Is it the battery's fault? Are the wicks/atomizers only good for a certain number of fills? I have noticed sometimes that hit quality/volume declines after repeated use, but other times I exhale thick clouds all the way through a movie or whatever. Serious +rep for an answer or a redirect, I havent had an analog or even wanted one since I bought a vape, and I hope to continue that.

How hard are you hitting it? Maybe you're not allowing it to wick completely. After a while, there's less juice for it to atomize. Give it a slight tip and let the wicks soak some juice up.

Did you flood the atomizer?

When I get less than usual hits, the first thing I do is unscrew my clearo and check to see if there's liquid lying on the battery. If that happens, dry it out, make sure to clear the center hole on your tank/clearo, and try again.

Is your battery running down? If all else fails, try a freshly charged battery and see if that improves it. Sometimes your battery will not function at peak even if it still has some charge left.

I'm sure there's other things to try, but those are the quick things to try.

Thanks ray, yes, I did surmise that the wicks would need some breathing time, and I try to do that, but often it does not solve the problem.

And also yes, I do try to keep the battery charged, though I have noticed no consistent pattern there.

I will pay attention to the flooding, and in fact will check that right now.

I have noticed that many veterans recommend multiple batteries and tanks on rotation. Is that because it is a solution to this problem?

I don't know enough to answer that question. I do know that I already do that - but that just happened on its own. I usually don't stick to the same juice for too long, so I have 2-3 devices good to go, all with different juices. When one gets tired, I switch to something else, or sample from the 3 just to keep from getting bored.

Another thing. Is your battery dirty? If you've been using it for a few weeks, it may have buildup in there. A good cleaning can improve performance.

Hold it so the connection end is downward, and clean it with a cotton swab wet with alcohol. Repeat as needed until it seems clean, then rim it with a dry swab. Use a wooden toothpick to clean the harder to reach grooves. After drying with a clean swab, blow out any debris and allow it to air dry a few minutes, and you should be good to go. Just don't hold it straight up where the alcohol can possibly run into the battery.

I've used the Vivi Nova and Splitfire. The Splitfire gave more consistancy than the Vivi, but I have never had a dry hit with my new SmokTank from Smoktek.com. I'm using a single coil 2.0 Ω head. My juice also lasts longer with it. I'm on my second day with only half the 6 ml tank gone, and I'm a chain vaper.

Im totally new to vaping, a couple of weeks ago I bought a Vision Spinner and a vivi nova tank. I've used both 2.4 and 1.8 ohm atomizers included with the tank, and sometimes I get great hits, other times not. I havent been able to figure out a pattern. Do the wicks get worn out? Im at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.:toast:

After a couple-months-long foray into CE-(whatever number)s, clearos and such systems involving wicks...I'm outtie. I use EMSCC or cartotanks with 2ohm cartomizers now. Funny...I'm seeing more and more people migrating back to the cartotank. And I'm seeing a LOT of people preferring 2ohm and single coils. I'm starting to think it may be a trend.

I've been with the forum for a month and a half, and I learn something new everyday! I'm torn on what EMSCC is myself.

A carto tank uses a Cartomizer wrapped inside a tank. It keeps the carto wet. My new SmokTank XL is fantastic! Go to Smoktek.com, and you will see the carto tanks there. I'm using a 2.0 OHM single coil head with it. Since I have an eGo Twist, I don't think I can use a dual coil carto effectively. I THINK 5 volts are needed for them. Anyway, I like the single coil carto. I've been chain vaping with no dry hits, and great flavor. I still like my Splitfire, I just can't chain vape with it, or the Vivi Nova.

 Sorry for being new but emscc? Also cartotank?
