I have an Emit vapor shotgun with a Patriot V2 on it that are both brushed stainless steel. I'm thinking of buying some stainless steel blackener gel, by caswell, to blacken this setup. Any thoughts on whether this could work? It's just that i don't know if this will turn out right/it will be safe (it's a chemical, and the rda will obviously be subjected to heat, possibly causing some undesired reaction). Any tips, thoughts, and warnings would be welcomed with open arms.

I'm looking into the Caswell gel as well... I don't know if you've seen the difference in finish between oxidization and painting but it's really night and day. I'm just curious as to the overall heat durability/safety aspect of this type of finish.
Best bet would be to contact Caswell directly or join their forums and ask there.

The mod is probably no problem as the gel is designed for firearms and you touch both. I would be a little more careful with the atty since you are going to heat it and breath what, if anything, comes off. If I were Caswell I would recommend against on general liability issues.
