Might be a stupid question....but....

What I have...
PG
VG
NIC juice 50/50....60 mg
Flavors.. of course.....(I like strong sweet flavors)

I would like to make 80/20 ..pg/vg...5 ml total juice..24 mg...

In ml's...do I have what I need? If so can someone calculate for me...

If I need a different strength of anything I can order it.... Thanks...

The difficult part for you and a lot of newer mixers now is getting PG/VG proportions right because of the nicotine being in a mixed PG/VG base. Back in the day it was either PG-nic or VG-nic so the calculators aren't very suitable anymore.

What you can do is first find out what % of your liquid will be nicotine. In this case you need to dilute the 60mg to 24mg, so you take 24/60 = 0.40 or 40%. Now that you know 40% of your final liquid will be the 50/50 base, you know about half of that is VG so 20% of your mixture will be VG from the nicotine base.

So you can really just pretend you're making 100% PG liquid for calculator purposes, but you will end up with just under 20% VG (because your nicotine base is 6% nicotine, so it would actually be 17% VG).

So, the easiest way to do these calculations is to multiply the strength wanted by the volume wanted and then divided by the strength you have. For this problem you want (24mg/ml)(5ml)/(60mg/ml)=2ml. You need 2ml of 60mg/ml solution mixed to a final volume of 5ml to get 24mg/ml. Next to get an 80/20 mixture you would need a total of 4ml of PG to 1ml VG since your nic already has 1ml of each roughly then all you need to do is add 3ml of PG to get your desired mixture! hope this helps, and remember that does not take your flavor into account, so add your flavor first and then mix with nic and last use your PG to fill.
Good luck!

I don't use the e-juice calculators anymore if the recipe is simple.

First thing is, how much nicotine ?
I might start with 100mg VG that's been diluted with 20% distilled water, resulting in an 80mg nicotine base liquid. If I want to make a 24mg recipe, I divide 24 (mg for recipe) by 80 (mg for base) which gives 0.3. Convert it to percent by moving the decimal point two places to the right, making it 30%. The recipe for 24mg juice will have 30% of 80mg unflavored nicotine base.

Second thing: how much unflavored nicotine to add?
I make quite a few 6ml batches for friends. For 24mg I would multiply 6ml by 0.3 (30%) to get the quantity of unflavored nic base: 1.8ml. The recipe will need 1.8ml of nicotine base.

Next thing: how much flavoring to add?
Same calculation as above: if I decide on 20% flavoring, then I multiply the 6ml batch size by 0.2 which = 1.2ml. I need to add 1.2ml of flavoring for this 6ml batch.

Last thing: how much zero nic base?
Well, we already have 1.8ml + 1.2ml; add those together and you get 3.0ml.
Total recipe is 6.0ml, so subtract the 3.0ml of nic+flavoring from the 6.0ml of recipe quantity and that leaves 3.0ml, the quantity for zero nic.

To sum it up, the recipe has:
1.8ml 80mg nicotine base (30%)
1.2ml flavoring (20%)
3.0ml zero nic base (plain PG or VG) (50%)
6.0ml total

And how much of that was VG, and how much was PG?
I used 1.8ml of VG nic base which was 20% water + 80% VG.
1.8ml X 0.8 = 1.44ml VG

If I had used PG zero nic base, then 1.44ml divided by 6ml = 0.24 or 24% VG in the recipe.

If I had used VG zero nic base: 3.0ml + 1.44ml = 4.44ml total VG. 4.44ml divided by 6ml = 0.74 or 74% VG in the recipe.

Hope this was helpful to someone.

You want the good news or bad news?

Based on your numbers (minus quantity) here is what I know, to go from 50/50 PG/VG to 80/20 PG/VG based on a staring quantity of 100ml (had to start somewhere)you would have to add 150ml of PG to your nicotine base to make it 80/20 PG/VG. Now the problem, you will reduced the mg in you nic base from 60mg to 24mg, at 10% flavoring the best mg in the finished product will be 21.6mg.
Attached is SS of my worksheets.

Well guess what, you are on target, if you actually mixed the base to 70/30 PG/VG the resulting mg would be 26.67mg, then when you add in 10% flavoring then the total mix would be 80/20 PG/VG with 10% flavoring at 24mg exactly, which is the same as using 4ml of 60mg 50/50 PG/VG nic base + 5ml of PG (no nic) + 1ml of flavoring. Talk about lucky LOL, here are my supporting SS or my worksheets, isnt math fun :)
