Since you're willing to spend a decent amount of cash, I would recommend the MVP 2 also. But if you think she would rather have something more slim, a good Ego starter kit like this KGO Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit | Virgin Vapor | Electronic Cigarette Organic e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes would maybe be more "girly". There are no settings to confuse a newby and you get two of everything except the charger.

I second the advice about the mini Protank 2 Mini Protank 2 Single . Get a couple or more of those since the CE4s that come with the kit are OK at best and are disposable so you can't replace the coil heads. Then buy several flavors from Mt. Baker vapor. Over $50 gets you free shipping from them and that buys quite a few 15ml bottles.
The second link I posted leads to the mini Protank 2. The same site has the MVP 2 in all styles iTazte MVP 2.0 They also have the VV V3 iTazte VV v3.0

Edit; I have made 2 purchases from strictly ecig and everything was as stated.

I dunno that vendor so can't vouch for them but the prices are good. The VV V3 is a nice unit and makes a good starter. The MVP's big advantage is a big, long lasting battery. Many get all day use on a single charge.

The VV 3 at that site has only one battery and it's a 800mAh. You'd want a second battery. It's real irritating having one die and need recharging when you don't have a back up.

The MVP has a 2600mAh battery which is more than four times the capacity. Much longer lasting on a single charge.

(Wait, did I "answer" the wrong poster? I thought I wuz talking to the OP. I are confused. Often am. It's almost comforting now.)

So, my sister smokes roll-your-owns with Drum tobacco and has for years. She'd probably buy packs, but she doesn't have much money and the bulk tobacco is a lot cheaper. She smokes many every day, though I couldn't say precisely how many -- probably around 20, but it could be more. I don't smoke at all.

I worry some about her, so I floated the idea that maybe she'd like vaping. She said she thought it sounded like a great idea, but that it's too expensive to get into the scene. I'd like to help her with that. I'll buy her a full kit, and the first couple rounds of liquid (or whatever you guys recommend).

So, the question is, where do I begin? I found this forum and I'm hoping you can help. It's for a truly good cause. She's not really a techie, so I don't see her dorking out on this stuff. I'm hoping we can make it pretty low maintenance. So, here are the three requests -- easy to use/maintain, cool for a girl (though she's not really "girly" -- more dramatic/theatrical type), and similar tasting to what she smokes now (I think that's what she'll like best, but I'm not sure).

There's really no cost restriction on the hardware (within reason -- $200?), but the refills will eventually be on her, so we'll want to be more sensitive there. She lives in the middle of nowhere and a long way from me, so we can't really visit a local shop together. I'll probably have to buy online.

Can you folks help me?

I would recommend something simple like a EVOD blister kit and a bottle of e-liquid that is close to a drum tobacco flavor. You will have to shop around to get the right flavors.

As a girl I'll add my 2 cents. The biggest hurdle for me was size. When I go out with a tiny clutch I want something that will fit but not die on me while I'm out. My all day vape is an ego twist 1100 or the very similar vision twist but I prefer the smaller 650 ego type for nights out. A simple clearo with a bottom fill tank like a Kanger T3 or Evod are cute and feminine as well. Above all make it as simple as possible. As for juice I agree with everyone above. While I thought I would want a tobacco flavor the reality is that I loved fruity and sweet almost right away. One of the best parts of quitting smoking analog is getting your taste buds back :)

So, I bought her both the Innokin VV V3.0 kit, and the MVP 2.0. I figure she can make the call on which one works better for her. Both come with iClear clearomizers (the VV has five 16s, and the MVP has one 30), but I also got her a Kanger Protank 2. I'll buy her more of whichever she prefers. I also bought her a selection of tobacco, fruit, and dessert flavors at Mt. Baker, all at 50/50 and 18mg/ml.

Thank you all for your help. Hopefully that gets her started.

Sounds great!! Still, try sending her here for additional aid and a warm welcome.
