We have been thru 2 different e-cigs and settled on the eGo. Hubby was a heavy smoker and I can't stop him from burning out atty's on the eGo. I've ordered a stonger battery,2 mega atty's and a box of mega carts. Will that give him a stronger vape or is there something else that would work better?

Hiya FranC. Welcome to ECF. There are several factors that contribute to burning out attys. Two main ones are:

    1. drawing too long (over 5 seconds at a time) overheats the atty
    2. letting the atty get dry overheats the atty

The mega attys and carts may or may not give a stronger vape. Basically they are intended for longer batter life and more juice capacity.

I'm thinking that increasing the nicotine level in your (Hubby's) juice may give him more vaping satisfaction. That would likely lead to less intense draws which would lead to longer atty life. What strength are you using currently? Is it a tobacco flavor? Freedomsmokeusa has some good tobacco flavors. Try the 30mg Max/Boro, that should do the trick. Its actually a little too strong for me, but everyone is different when it comes nic strength.

Also insure that the atty doesn't run completely dry. Keep the cart topped off with plenty juice, but not so much as to flood it.

I was a heavy smoker too, 2 sometimes 3 plus packs a day on weekends. My Ego attys are still going good after 10 weeks. But I must add, I have 4 of them that I rotate thru during the day.

I'd recommend going with a HV device that can go 3.7v if you prefer 3.7v, that way you have a better battery, faster recharge time, and if you want bigger vapes you need higher voltage. Carts are gross imo.

That does not make any sense. High voltage devise are devices that run at 6.0v and above, using an HV atomizer on a 3.7v devise does not make for a good vape.

If Franc's husband is buring out attys on the Ego then the probable cause as was mentioned is that he is either not priming the atty before use or vaping until the cart and atty get too dry. I suggest that her husband should put 2 drops of e-liquid in the atty to prime it each time he fills a new cart and make sure that he does not smoke the cart dry.

A mega cart will not solve this problem, he will burn those out too if he does not keep the atty primed and vapes the cart dry.

Maybe that's because I didn't say get a HV atomizer. I said get a HV device, that CAN do 3.7, aka Prodigy, Silver bullet, BB, Omega.. ETC.. ETC.. That way you have a better battery, and if you need more vapor you can go high voltage.. Learn to read?

Firstly, I don't think that your sarcastic remark about reading was necessary, okay. I made an error, I am human.

You said "I'd recommend going with a HV device that can go 3.7v if you prefer 3.7v, that way you have a better battery, faster recharge time, and if you want bigger vapes you need higher voltage. Carts are gross imo."

How is your suggestion going to keep her husband from burning out atomizers if he is not keeping them wet enough?

Yes, the batteries in the larger mods are better then then pen style batteries, as far as the recharge time goes, that is going to depend on the size "Mah's" of the batteries that are going to be used in the device. Yes, if you want a stronger vape you will need to get a mod of 5v and above.

My sister had this same problem. Someone of the forum suggested she have more than one battery going at a time so she wouldn't be getting the atty so hot. The other thing she did was slow down on the frequency of vapes. She was pulling very hard very often. She does have to pay attention to what she is doing but since she started using two batteries she hasn't killed anymore attys.

Thanks for the help everyone but you don't have to fight and I don't do Chinese. Hubby does not let his atty's go dry. I see to that and he's getting much better with it. Hasen't killed an atty in a few days.Case of too long/hard draw I'm sure. I don't know about the stronger nic. He has a heart condition and don't know if that's the way to go. Any and all help needed. Pretty new to the Ego/510.
