Why would a CE4 only fire occasionally?

CE4 is a disposable clearomizor maybe just done for

Assuming that the battery is fine, and the CE4 is also OK, it could just be the connection between the two. The center battery post of the battery needs a good contact with the center post of the CE4. Very gently pry up the center battery post with a straight pin or something similar...may help.

I understand the throw away, but the darn thing has only ran thru two "tanks" of juice.

It is not a battery issue because it will do the same thing on 3 diff batteries.
and the 3 batteries work fine with all my other clearos

You may have screwed it on the battery too tightly and pushed the center pin of the CE4 in a little too far. Someone already suggested moving the battery center pin, but I'd give that a try on the center pin of the CE4 instead, just for ....s and giggles. I'm not familiar with the CE4 but would suspect that the center pin can be moved out a little to improve the connection. If that doesn't work, it is ferme.

I you're using sweet liquids, that can shorten the life of any atomizer due to "gunk" buildup.

Or you could try pulling down the center post of the CE4 just a little to see if that helps.

But it could be that it is just toast, I doubt it, but it might be.

Screwing the CE4 down tight on a battery can push the connectors of the battery down or the connectors of the clearo into the body and stop them making contact.
One of the many things I learnt on here when I first started vaping was make sure my clearo is screwed onto the tank loosely - not much more than finger tight.

It's probably not making connection with the battery.

Remove the CE4 from the battery. Turn the CE4 upside down. Right in the middle is the firing post that's supposed to contact the battery pin. Use needle-nose pliers or tweezers or any other suitable grabbing tool, get a hold on the post and wiggle it out a little. You'll have to turn it a little and pull it a little to do this. I know; it's scary. But don't worry, the post is about 1/2" long. Even if it comes all the way out (which it won't if you're careful), you can still put it back in. Just ease it out and test it until it makes contact.

I found that the center pin had come loose and was indeed farther in than it should be.

It had a screwdriver slot in it

That center post has no threads, it's smooth. If "unscrewing" it worked, great, but next time a jewelers screwdriver, thumb tack or even a paperclip might work better.
