Hello! I want to start out by saying hello! Honestly speaking, I am utterly clueless when it comes to all of this vape stuff. Last week I purchased a 30w ileaf. The clerk helped me fill it with my flavor, told me to click it 3 times and puff so I did. When I went to do it my first time after leaving the store I noticed ithat came on with only 1 click. I now hear a gurgling noise and taste a burnt taste rather than flavor! Please help. Keep in mind when responding that I literally know NOTHING about all of this. I don't know how the whole adjusting of the watts (arrows up and down )!works.
Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully help me. Now I am crossing my fingers that I'll be able to find my way back to this post! Lol

hi Laura and welcome to the forum. You can check here for the operating instructions. http://timbozero.com/wp-content/uploads/iStick-30W-user-manual.pdf

As to adjusting the watts, they are dependant on what tank you are using and is directly related to getting a burnt taste and the gurgling. (Nautilus Mini?)

I don't own an iStick 30 watt, but I can probably help you out a bit. First of all, you don't have to click the button 3 times every time you want to take a vape. Clicking 3 times just turns the mod on and off, whenever you want to take a puff if it's on, you just hold the button down and inhale. As for the burned taste, your watts may be set too high for your coil. Did the guy at the shop tell you what resistance your coil was? If not, the screen on your iStick should display that information. Hope this helps!

3 clicks turns it on and 3 more clicks turns it off. once it is on, press the button only as long as you inhale on it... as far as the burnt taste, sounds like the coil/wick is toasted. Time for a replacement coil and refill. Once the coil is replaced, you will need to prime the coil by adding/dripping juice directly to the coil/wick before using. The wick has to be wet with juice before it becomes heated by the coil... if not, you will end up repeating the burnt taste...

and btw, the clerk who sold you the setup did a poor job in showing you the ropes.... if it was done properly, your thread would have a different title :)

You got an Eleaf Istick 30 watts.
And it came with some sort of tank; maybe an aspire nautilus, kanger subtank, eleaf melo or some other tank.

The gurgling noise is usually from a flooded coil.

When you get a burnt taste you should maybe turn down the power.

Like I said, I don't know anything about vaping and the stick so I don't know how to tell you what tank I have. The clerk gave me the tank, tip and 2 flavors for free when I purchased the stick.

I use my mods on watts as to the power measurement. Click the fire button 3 times until the LED window reads in watts, it should be a number like 8.0w. Then use the down arrows to take the power to 6w.

The rule of thumb for EVERY vape device you'll ever own is the same. Start low power, take a draw and bump it up to repeat. If it starts to taste funny, gets too hot or tastes burnt, back it down. Different flavors will have different sweet spots so you just have to experiment.

Take a draw at 6 watts, if it's burnt, you'll need to replace the coil (and probably all the juice in the tank as the burnt flavor can leach into the tank). If it's not burnt, use the up arrow and move to 8 watts, and take another draw. When you find the "sweet spot" of your vape, use a thumb and hold down BOTH arrows at the same time for 3 seconds, this locks the power setting in at that number and protects from accidental change. If the numbers move as you try this, use the arrows to put the power back where you liked it and try again. If it works you'll get a "locked" flash in the led. Hit the fire button once to check the power is set where you liked it. If it's not, and you've achieved "locked" you'll have to hold down both buttons for 3 seconds to "unlocked" and set the power again. It's a little frustrating to start but after you've done it a few times you'll really like it.

Below is a pic of my journey. The Nautilus is on the tall battery in the middle and on the iStick 50w on right.

I have no way of knowing how to tell what the resistance is and it should be.

Ok I am going to the vape shoo this time rather than where o got the stick. So, the tank is where i put the flavor? Do I get a whole new tank to replace the coil? Also when you say prime the coil and wick, the wick is the rope right? Where is the coil?

oh; so you see rope.
yes, that would be the wick.

the coil you would not see. it is wrapped around the middle part of the wick.
