Hi I have a few questions. Just heard about the e-cigs and I want to get one, and just have a few questions to ask.

1) what's the best one? I was going to order from e-cig.com but then i read some bad reviews on here.. so now i dont know.

2) how exactly are you saving so much money by using these? it seems like it will cost more than to go buy actual cigarettes, considering how expensive the cartidges are plus shipping costs on top..

3) why are there so many threads about bans on these? and people worried that they have to stock up incase they get banned and cant buy it anymore? if these are so good for you compared to cigarettes why would they be banned...

thanks

Try this for question 3

If you do the maths you should find that e-smoking saves a lot of money compared to cigarettes, regardless of where you buy your cartridges from.

As regards your 1st question, read the reviews and decide yourself. No-one here is likely to tell you which is "best" because few people have tried enough to make a comparison.

Hope that helps,

SJ

Thanks for your response smokey.

The math finds me spending more than double what I spend now, and cigarettes are expensive here. so that makes no sense.

Here's my math.. using njoy as an example. $25 + shipping (so that's like $35? not sure what they charge to ship, but I assume its around there.) Anyways, lets say $30 for 5 cartridges. If I read correctly, 1 cartridge is equal to about 5 cigarettes. So 5 cartridges would equal 1 pack. (25 cigs in a large pack here). Which means 1 pack is basically costing $30 or more.

A new question on top.. is there ANY e-cig out there that is RELIABLE? judging by reviews on this site, they ALL break, and NONE are reliable. considering they're so pricey, the reviews on here are driving me further and further away from even bothering with one of these.. anyone got anything positive to say about them? aside frmo health related positive things.. anyone actually using ONE for a while with good results? why does everyone here own like 15 of them? lol, makes me think they're just bad and you need to keep buying more. Some people say one is good, while other people say it broke in 10 minutes. *sigh*. What exactly is the reason you all buy so many? I mean at like $100 a piece, are you all rich or something?!

hi.well i cant speak for any1 else, but i know what you mean.it isnt a cheap thing to start, but long term should save you some money.im going through cartridges at the rate of about 4 a day.i smoked roll ups before,so at the moment, after buying two electronic cigs,i dont feel like im saving any cash, quite the opposite.however,i intend to get some liquid so i can save money by filling my own cartridges or simply dry smoking which works out much cheaper apparently, and there are fairly cheap cartridges for my devices on ebay anyway.alas, these are fickle devices it seems, and atomisers can break and batteries can perform poorly-thats just the way it is at the moment.so some people buy other cigs to have just in case, and some buy other brands just because they like and enjoy the whole concept of e-smoking.perhaps they are looking for one which suits their needs best.

ROFL!! That is some funny %#@*! It definately sounds like the same sort of rituals and inventiveness drug addicts go through to get their fix: Expensive, finding clean rigs, dripping, turning light bulbs into smoking apparatus, sqeezing cartridges, finding a reliable source, supply shortages (30-50ml e-liquid), legality issues etc... . I personally can't wait to get started! :D

First, on your math, the ones that equal 3-5 cigarettes are the mini ones. Full size ones like Njoy should last considerably longer. Supposedly equal to a pack, I find them to be about half that. E-liquid is cheaper, of course. I'd suggest getting an occasional pack of cartridges, and stretching that out with the liquid.

As to why so many, personally I'm just enjoying buying and trying different models. There is a high rate of failure with these units, though, so it's not a bad idea to have at least a couple. If one breaks you can use the other until your replacement arrives. MOST sellers I've bought from have had great customer service, and allow generous returns of defective parts. My advice is to buy from a local supplier. When you need to return a defective part, it's much easier. Happy_Gifts, an e-bay seller located in China, for example is happy to exchange parts, but you have to ship it to them and wait until it arrives before they send you a new one.

And for a good reccomendation, if you want a pen model, I'd say Njoy or myecig.com, when he's ready. Both have good reliable units which produce lots of smoke. If you want a mini or super mini, myecig has good ones as well, and also e-cig-sales.com has the old Janty models in both mini and super mini. I've tested all of those, and recommend any of them.

Glad you guys are enjoying my suffering so much! haha :)

Seriously, it's just that these things are expensive, and if it's as unreliable and as defective as people make it sound, I dont see why anyone would bother.

I'm a little new at this to be testifying but since I started vaporing I haven't felt the uncontrollable urge to go out and buy a pack of cigarettes. When going thru the process of giving up smoking I'd really feel rotten when I gave in a bought a pack of cigarettes.

if u can handle spendin the money i would get a ruyan. njoy is great an the service is fantastic but out of all the ones i have bought, tried , etc.. the ruyan is hands down the most reliable constant out of them all just keep in mind u get what u are paying for an they are more then the rest.

Hey! I just now discovered that in a pinch (all your e-cigs fail  ) you can smear a drop of e-liquid on a folded piece of aluminum foil, hold your lighter under it to warm it up, and suck up the smoke with a straw! Ahhhhh, chasing the "nicotine dragon"........ . Maybe I should post this in tips and tricks? :D

Or maybe in the "Crack Smoker forum!"

I'm just picturing this as a Dave Chappelle skit.

N-E-Ways... its cheaper than smoking because you'd have to be a bit dumb to bay 30 bucks for 5 carts (if this is what you plan on doing, go buy a pack of cigs). People don't have 15 pieces (they have 30+.... jk), I have 2 and so does my mother. The rate of failure is based on where you buy. Buy in your own country and you should be fine. They'll replace your atomizer or battery or charger if something goes defective. Make sure the seller will ship the part with a return envelope like njoy does. All my pieces work fine. The njoy needed the atomizer replaced twice. Once because the vapor wasn't strong consistently, the second because the replacement one died after 2 days. The third atomizer is nice and strong, but i'm not using the njoy anymore, my mother is using it. I have 100 ml of liquid and about 35 carts sitting around. I rinse the fiber after a few refills and use the liquid. I have a local seller who is willing to sell to me face to face so I don't really have the kind of issues some have with long distance purchases. I only buy liquid from e-cig... that's it. In fact, after 4 weeks... and X $ bucks... both pieces and liquid... I made my money back in what I saved. I still have plenty of liquid to go so... ergo... saving money and saving your health. Even if it is more expensive, which its not, you'd be better off doing something that isn't gonna give you cancer after 20-30 years.

I guess all I can say is either you're willing to try something new or you're not. No one is going to make up your mind for you. I'm happy with my e-smoking and many of us out here are as well. Some have had issues with their devices and some have not. This is just the price you pay for being an early adopter. I don't regret it. I enjoy not being out of breath all the time and not wreeking of cigarette smoke everywhere I go..... and my teeth are whiter like this guy :D . So... make a choice.

I'll be getting my Crown7 today and I also ordered a backup e-cig off Ebay. I ordered 6 boxes of cartridges at $10 a box from Crown7 and the backup comes with 5 cartridges. I also ordered a 30ml bottle of e-liquid for refills. Total cost was around $225. I spend about $150 a month on regular cigs and I figure if I get just 2 months out of this I'll save $75 (maybe I'll buy a backup for my backup with that 75 bucks!). I'm sick of the government telling me to quit smoking while at the same time raping me with rediculous taxes. IT WORKED! No more money from me daggummit!
