I'm using a phiniac tank and Boge 3.0 cartos.

I've watched videos on the proper way to fill the tanks and process always goes real smooth.

Where the trouble begins is when i need to add additional juice.

I remove the tank from the pv, push the drip tip a little bit down causing the carto to push out the bottom of the tank a bit, then remove the drip tip and pull the carto a little more from the bottom giving me enough room to fill the tank.

When I'm done I push the carto back into place, put the drip tip back on, and proceed to vape.

This is usually where things go south.

The smooth draw is gone. The carto doesn't work the same way. I end up flooding or burning out the carto. I've added some drops if it looked to dry, I've also took dry pulls to be sure the carto was good, this last time I didn't
do thing.

It was working fine, i refilled the tank. Error codes came up and the carto was done.

I've gone through a few in a few days. Where an I going wrong?

From what you described, it sounds like you are doing everything correctly. The only thing I can think of that might be user-error related is you may have gotten some liquid in the center air hole of the cartomizer when re-filling the tank, since you didn't say that you were using a tank tool such as a Slap Yo Moma or Phiniac tank tool which would prevent that from happening.

After re-filling the tank, before putting the drip tip back on the carto, blow through the air hole in the carto onto a tissue. There just might be some juice or vapor condensation buildup from the atomizer in the tube causing some issues.

I just slide the cap up and fill mine. Then I push the cap down to where the oring contacts the tank. Then I turn it untill the hole in the side of the carto is in the air bubble inside the tank and push it the rest of the way on. Takes longer to type how than it does to do it and I never have flooding or dry hits. Been using this same Fusion carto for 33 days doing the same procedure.

That method works good for you, and you've obviously had success doing it that way.

Some tank's endcaps fit very tightly (that's a good thing) so depending upon the tank, this might be a viable option. However, making sure that the hole in the carto is facing into the empty part of the tank is extremely important. Simply closing the top cap onto a filled tank held in an upright position can force too much juice into the cartomizer and flood it. When new tank users do this and complain of the carto being flooded, this is one of the most common reasons.

Or you could get a tank with a screw hole in it for filling. I have these AND a Phiniac...wish I could merge them! But now that I'm in love with ViVi Novas I guess it's a moot point.

Triple V Sidewinder

Or if you want to try the concept for cheap:

Economy Tanks (ignore the pyrex ones on this page, they don't have the screws)

There are also cartotanks that have a twist off top. These have no threading like a vivi nova tank does, but rely on snug fitting o-rings to keep the top cap one. The top cap and mouthpiece are all one-piece design. These are the Lava Tanks and Bella/Elegance tanks made by Hoosier Vapes. I have the one pictured on the left below:
