I'm new to the forum too, so this is very interesting reading for me.
I see a lot of people saying, "You really have to want to quit!" and I'm sure that was true for them. For me, though, it was exactly the opposite. I had to keep reminding myself that I really could have a cigarette any old time I wanted to, and that nobody could stop me. ("So there, you health freak .......s!")
Even now that I'm positively in love with vaping, and honestly think that tobacco cigarettes taste like dog hair and dust, I
still keep a full pack of Camel filters in a drawer, never to be thrown away. If I take a couple of drags once a week, so what? No worse than stopping at a traffic light and being stuck behind a bus for two minutes, right?
Anyway, I guess I'm just a terribly stubborn person, and I really,
really hate being told what to do. So, for me, vaping has to feel like a
choice, every single time . . . Does that make sense? I dunno. It worked for me.
So, yeah - good luck! If I could quit smoking with e cigs - I swear to God -
anybody can.
