I also just got a riva 510-t that I have been fighting with since Monday. I first made the mistake of filling the tanks that came with it not in the package and the crap went everywhere. I soon realized there was supposed to be a little rubber cap. I used a new one filled it and I also had the nasty burnt taste every hit unless I put a few drops directly on the wick.

I am not sure if yours is doing the same thing as mine but my tank was not getting punctured like its supposed to. I took the little rubber cap off and poked a small hole in it with a kitchen knife. Now it is working like a dream and no more nasty taste. Its worth a try. I also ordered some cartomizers and a clearomizer today to see if that would work better with what we have. Good luck. I know your frustration, I felt the same way and almost bought a pack of analogs. Just hang in there you will figure it out. :)

Ok, I went to the local vapor lounge and the guy said I had flooded it. Taught me what it's supposed to sound like when it's working correctly. It went fine for about an hour. Came out from bathing the kids and nearly the entire cartridge was empty; took the cone off and liquid was everywhere. I've seriously gone through about 10ml of juice and had the equivalent of maybe 3 cigarettes. Put a new cartridge on, filled it, and now it is flooded again AND I have the burn smell back. How can the wick not be wet enough when the thing is too flooded to use?! Getting the kids to bed and then I'll have time to watch all these videos. In general though, what I'm gathering is that the cartridge is the problem and I should replace it with a cartomizer or clearomizer. And any that work on a 510 will be compatible. Is this correct or do I need a specific type due to the way the wick is attached? Thank you again for all the patience and assistance!

ETA: Also, is a 510 battery a 510 battery period? And what makes mine a "t" is the atomizer and wick placement? So I could theoretically attach anything 510 related to the battery? I don't know if I'm making sense anymore lol!

Looking at the clearomizers now - so would they screw straight into my battery and then I would not use the atty or cartridge? The ones I see are threaded on the bottom, so I don't think they would work with the atty. And do you just fill them straight from a bottle? If so, that looks really easy. I've been using cartomizers with my kr808 and don't love them. But that could be the battery's fault, not the cartomizer.

Yes this is an atomizer + a cartridge that they call a "tank". It's really not a tank system. The best cartomizers I've found that work on the Kgo/ Riva (same model diff name) are the Smok Teck 1.7 single coil XL cartomizers aka The Resurectors. They hold 1.8 ml of juice and get high praise. Here's review:

I'll post a cleaning vid for your burnt atomizer shortly but make sure the good atty has plenty of juice on it.

Thanks for the info , I will probably order some of these after I get my new KGO. I probably dumb question, how many time can these be refilled. They look very well made, a bit pricey, but like the fact they hold more juice. Thank you

So sorry that we couldn't help you. Clearomizers are a plastic tube with an element and wick inside and as it has its own element the atty is not needed. First shake the juice and unscrew the drip tip from the clearo, tilt it and fill it up- be careful not to get juice down the airway hole in the center. If this happens just blow out excess juice into tissue. Replace/ screw on drip tip. Roll the clearo around so the wick in the element area at the top gets saturated. Vape. Save the atty for testing juices. Here's a video detailing how to fill them BUT realize the version in the video is Stardust V1 with short wicks- version V2 has longer wicks which addresses the wicking problem. There will be a break in period and in ALL tanks citrus juices should be avoided because of cracking issues. Apparently the V2 is a better plastic but time will tell.

You're welcome.

Using a tank and cartos with a punched hole in it I was getting 2 weeks and without a tank I was getting about 1 week. Realize darker juices will clog it up quicker. At the time I was vaping about 40 ml per week. Before committing a carto to a new juice use the atty to test it. ALWAYS remember to shake your juice before filling or topping off the carto.

The first fill of a cartomizer is VERY IMPORTANT. Once they been first filled properly you can then just drip juice in from the top. Because the cartos hold 1.8 ml of juice they should be good for awhile before having to refill. Yes you refill them straight from the bottle. Here's a vid on first filling properly. Note the key word is SLOWLY when pushing the carto down into the condom of juice. Reason the vendor wasn't warm about clearos is because he has none to sell to you. 20 drops of juice= 1ml so you know how much has to go into the 1.8 ml cartos.

I just got my boge cartos today and used it with the riva 510. Before I filled I watched the same video that Vapoor eyes posted and it was very easy. It works like a dream. I first used it with the cap but I agree with pbusardo I like it much better with a drip tip and it also looks better. I can't believe what a difference it made in taste and vapor. I don't think I will ever use the atty and tanks again.

The drip tip will also help prevent "hot juice spurts" from the PV. It does happen, tastes horrible and can sometimes burn the mouth and/ or lips.
