Hello,
Been lurking for a while, trying to gather info, and am about ready and need a little help.
About a year ago I bought an e-cig auto kit from a mall vendor. I quit smoking analogs for about a month. I vapid for about 4 months before I got tired of it. Also I didn't like how it made my mouth dry.
Now I'm ready to try again with a more powerful ecig.
It seems to me a frugal way to start without too much initial outlay, while getting a real good vaping experience would be to go with the ego-twist.
not being one who wants to be inconvenienced much, I think I would pass on an atomizer because I think it means I would have to fill it with juice all the time.
My thoughts are that I would like some kind of tank or clearomizer so that I can see my levels and have it just work pretty much without doing anything.

However I am really confused about all the options there.
For example, does the tank still mean I need a carto anyway ? What about a clearomizer ? Is that just a mini tank with a car to in it ?

I read that the vision v2 is a popular clearomizer ? Or the vista nova (something like that)

What should I start with to keep it easy, which vendor to get it at ? I haven't even started figuring out juice yet, I guess some vg regular one about 14mgs of nicotine ?? ( I smoke a pack a day of Winston regulars.

I know this is a wide open subject, that's why I haven't asked before. But now I am getting a little impatient and need a break from all the research.

Maybe someone can help me make the decisions about actually taking the plunge with a certain type of acessories for my pv.

Thanks,
Floyd

whew, a million responses any second,
first juice, 14 is kinda low to start on but try it, if you still have a bad urge to smoke go up in nic. say 18-24. the very best thing is dont limit yourself to one strength, some times i need some 24 for the urges other day I chain vape 12.

it is called a vivi nova . it is a tank with wicks in it, that you can rebuild.
A clearo is also a smaller tank with wicks in it.
a clearo and nova do not need cartos, they are all in one ready to use units. i use kanger T2 clearos and vision vivi nova .
but they do make carto style tanks.

the best thing to do is start with simple accessories like the nova or kanger, use them while you learn more, how stuff works what stuff is called etc.
then after a while start trying some of these different items to see if you like them better.

the twist is a good start for battery.
Usually a higher PG juice flows easier, I use 70/30 pg/vg and its a perfect combo of vapor and throat hit for me.

The Vivi Nova is a 3 ml tank with changeable heads. You don't need anything else except spare heads since they last 2-4 weeks with regular cleaning. 3 mls will probably last you a day or so. As for nicotine, get a few juice samples. I started at 24 and immediately found it to be too much. I went down to 18 immediately and a few months later, I am at 12mg, and even 8 mg depending on the juice. As for mixture of PG and VG, try a mix here too. More PG gives you more flavor and throat hit and the juice is thinner. VG gives more vapor and is thicker. Most here use 70/30 PG/VG, which will work with a Vivi Nova tank. I use 50/50 and it works well, too. Check the Forum Suppliers at the top for places to buy your gear. If you have more questions, keep posting, someone will sure to have an answer, although you'll get more input than you'll know what to do with. :)

Welcome to the forum! I hope you will be successful with giving up the stinkies this time. I think you will.

Thrasher gave good vendor suggestions, so no need to go there. A Twist is a good way to start. Mad Vapes has the Spinner, which is very similar to the Ego Twist. The dial adjustment is much more easy to read, and some say the Spinner is a better battery. I don't own one yet, but will be getting one. I have the Twist currently and like it, but I need a magnifying glass to read the setting; the only thing I dislike about it.

The other good suggestion is the Mini Vivi Nova. With the Vivi, and a Twist (or Spinner), you can play around with voltage settings and different OHM heads to better help find your own best vaping experience.

I would wait just yet on a Cartomizer tank. After you've vaped for a few weeks, you may want to try one at that point. They are a little more fussy at times than a clearo tank (Vivi, or similar).

If you want to try citrus juices, to need to consider a metal tank, the citrus juices are known for cracking some plastic tanks.

Thank you Thrasher. Good advice. I'll get an 18 at least on the juice then.
So are the wics in tanks easy and make a good vape ?
What's the deal with carto tanks then, bs wic tanks ? Why would a person choose one over the other ?

I think I read that pg is controversial. No ?

PG has been studied since the late 40's its used in foggers like the dance clubs, in asthma inhalers, for sterilizing surgical gear, in the smoke reduction devices in restuarants and bars, its use is so varied and accepted I personally dont think there are any problem in many tests when the room was completely saturated in it they could find no long term effects being exposed to it. and its usually for sale in some health food stores. the confusion is with Ethelyn glycol used in antifreeze.

the deal with carto tanks is the flavor is much stronger then a wick style tank, many people believe once you see the difference you wont like the wick style anymore.

The trick is to match equipment to correct voltage, juice etc, some people complain 'this doesnt give a good vape or that doesnt work"
but with the exception of just a few devices I can get a booming vape cloud of almost everything I have ever tried once you dial in the correct combination of settings.

I still use my nova for work, it just works, it's so reliable, heads last forever, I can lay it on the seat of my car with no worries, drop it in my pocket bend over move all day no worries, but when I get home it sits on the desk.

I didnt believe it either but many people say its not the best flavor producer, and once you find something that does work better you think the nova must have gotten broken as its not the same. the tank atty i have blows the nova out of the water for flavor that I cant use it right after the atty or I think something is wrong with it, it does produce flavor and vapor just fine ,just not as strong as some other devices.

Well as a fellow noob if found it way easy to go with an ego style with a carto tank holds a huge amount of juice battery lasts all day (volcano inferno) and it's just a simple as it gets other than an auto ecig. As for juice that's a whole other thing the stuff I got was a 24mg and now I know after a little vape time under my belt it was a higher pg liquid I just didn't like it one bit then I found a local guy who let me try almost all the juice he makes (saved me a crap ton of money) that how I found I like 18mg of nic with a 60/40 vg/pg I got more vapor with less of a th with I like Cuz I got off smokes Cuz the th always hurt and they tasted gross just needed that nicotine. Well I'm sure you'll get 50 more post with 50 different ideas so don't go into info over load just try to keep it simple your first time out after a few weeks you'll be on here talking with the best of em' dreaming about the new pv you want.

Thanks Flintlock..
Another good idea to buy a nova or mini nova with multiple ohm heads. From what I read, somewhere between 2.4 to 3 ohms seems logical so that the battery drain isn't too much. I don't know if I should go for single or dual coil but am thinking single.

From the reviews I read, I initially thought the spinner was better, bit now it seems more of a crapshoot on QC for those.
I am still leaning toward the twist.

The Spinner is only a suggestion. I haven't read about the Spinner QC thing. Like I said, I own the Twist, and like it. Dual coils, don't go there! Stay with single coils.

I'm sure Thrasher will answer the question, but a Vivi is called a clearomizer tank. You just unscrew, and drop juice into the tank and screw it back on. The carto tank has a cartomizer inside a tank. You first prime the carto, then slip it into the tank, and then fill the tank with juice. That keeps the carto wet.

Thankmyou some more Thrasher !
So is that vivi nova a car to tank ? I guess the carto tank is just a carto that sits inside the tank juice ! Or does it somehow wic the juice into the carto ?

Sorry for the basic questions. I do appreciTe the help.
