Duncan, do that, if that is what you need to do, but just remember, if we do not separate ourselves from the smokers, and PV's become difficult to use and aquire because of legislation, you may find yourself kicked out of "said" doorway! No more pointing fingers, we are at the place now where we should eduacate, and convert smokers and inform non smokers we mean no harm. (Hope I don't sound like an alien)

Sorry I don't understand your comment, I can't see how educating SB's about their nonsensical plans makes us not seperating ourselves from the smokers, and why would we be in the doorway to start with? I won't stand within 5 metres of a smoker, I quit because I didn't want to kill myself so I certainly won't let anyone do it for me.

I agree with educating and converting, but I do not agree with shying away from opportunities to stand up and be counted. We have nothing to be ashamed of and that is the sole reason why we should NOT let anyone think that we have anything to hide or any reason to be ashamed.

We finally hit 500!! It's sad, but I think it would be much higher if not for a couple of the trolls. I am certain the down votes were the work of only one or two people.

I have to give DevonMoonshire a huge shout out for staying up late and using her mighty sword of knowledge and experience to slash down the trolls! You have to wonder why it's so important for them to discredit the idea? It's just so odd. But, if anything my old age has taught me, there are a lot of odd people in the world! I can be one of 'em at times, but never in a mean way. Well, almost never, ha ha.

Thank you all so much for the intelligent and respectful comments. I think we finally convinced them that we are a legit group of people who want our voices heard.

I'm tired from working two jobs, but I will try to do more to keep the thread / idea going tomorrow. Thank you again everyone!

Thanks for explaining, and I apologise if my earlier posts were misunderstood in that case. I don't think we should be pointing at the smokers saying we're better than them therefore we are 'ok'. I want to highlight the fact to them that their targeting is singular and if applied to race or creed would be more visibly offensive. As it is, it is offensive and discriminatory.

Either get rid of the smoking in the outside seating or offer non smoker free oxygen bar style oxygen masks and free healthcare.

What an assclown. What does he think he is breathing in everytime he leaves his front door? Fresh air?
How about offering the smoker a place to smoke in peace, without being surrounded by arrogant, more-righteous-than-thou idiots like this.

Thank you everyone for keeping this alive! I reached out to another forum today, but it didn't get a fraction of the activity that this forum did, although I did appreciate the 3 or 4 people who made the effort to vote and comment. I am hoping that this was just a slow day on their forums and more will see my post.

Yeah, DevonMoonshire and Mr. Wizard were awesome! I wanted to warn Devon about Cherrycrema. She's a real piece of work and no one can win with her.
