Hey all, so I'm heading for it! Problem is that I dont know what to do. I'm getting kinda of fustrated because its proving hard to get strait answers. Not to mention all the ads floating around here do not help any. Here the thing. I am willing to spend $50. I dont care what it looks likes just how well it performs. Locally they sell kits here for $30 bucks but I dont know if they are junk or not. I justr need to hear some pros and cons of drip vs cart and some brands that are proven to pick form, any help..........

To throw aout a brand look at riva / ego / totally wicked torando. Prices are coming down and may find one in your price range. But if you can give more info about what and how much you smoke now and what kind of performance maters most TH , vapor production , taste of flavors more people will be able to give there opinion. To just say what is the best brand many people have different opinions depending on what is most important to them.

It would be hard to say what brand you should get, I wanted something similar to a cigarette so I found out I like the cartomizers better then dripping, I also have found out I like the manual e-cigs better than the automatic ones, I still use 24 mg nicotine and am starting to like the sweeter taste now but at first liked the tobacco juices. So now after 3 models I have the V4L XL manuals ones with the cool cart atomizers, but I don't like their juice so I am ordering juices from other suppliers. Hope this helps you a little, everyone is different so it really is a matter of trial and error

Hello Jon,
Good luck, getting this answer. When you started smoking you probably snagged some from a parent or sibling, maybe a freind. So you didnt really choose. Well, This is an awful lot like stepping into a tobacco store, theres a few choices. Probably as many if not more than a tobacco store.
What do you smoke now, how much do you smoke, so on, would help determine what is most similar to your "habit".
Good Luck!

Yes read the guide that 5cardstud suggested, and everything else you can. Then decide on one and just do it. Order a kit that appeals to you and some extra flavors of juice or pre-filled carts. That is how I decided on my 510 model and I have not had an analog since it arrived 2 days ago. Do your research and then commit. Good luck and happy hunting!

I would definitely recommend to avoid local store $30 e-cig.

You can get a fine kit for 60-70 bucks, but remember to add some juice and carts or cartomizers.
Again, depends what, how long and how many you smoke.

Do you care about looking close to a real cigarette?
If yes, best IMO choice would be manual Vapor4Life KR808D-1, (2 pieces: battery + cartomizer).
If look doesn't really matter, than most people would recommend Ego/Riva models - those can be used in 3 pieces (battery, atomizer, cart) or in 2 pieces (battery + cartomizer).

I'm sort of a noob too. I bought a hugely expensive SMOKE FREE kit from the mall (first time I ever saw or tried one), and after investigating, looks like this is a Smoking Everywhere kit under a different name  But, it got me started and it's not horrible. So after finding this forum and reading a lot and comparing prices and other things I was looking for, I settled on V4L as my next go to.

I got the Shorty Value Kit. Only $49.50 (plus used the smilin discount) and it gave me everything I wanted. Plus it's super easy to use. I'm experimenting with different juices right now. I prefer buying blank carts and filling myself and that's part of the fun for me.

I really have my eye on the PROVAPE too. Dropped the hint to my boyfriend already for my birthday in Oct.

Good luck in your quest!

It's funny that you mentioned these because I started out with a V4L kit (auto then switched to manual) before buying and loving my Riva. I use both on a daily basis and appreciate the 2 piece while driving or on breaks and lunch at work - quick and easy. BUT...first thing in the morning and when I am finally home again at night, I use nothing but the Riva. I've almost come to look at it like that special "fix" that I can look forward to at the end of a bad day (or good day or any day). Flavor and vapor is stronger, battery life is waaay longer. An ECF member recommended the Riva to me and it was a good choice for me to move to the next level.

If you choose one, I agree that Vapor4Life is a good choice to start with. Just keep in mind that if you are like so many here, you will find that you will keep checking reviews and updating what you have until you find that perfect hit. My next stop is into the world of bottom fed box mods...

The 510 is a good little unit. I've had mine for a couple of months now and haven't had any problems with it. I don't leave the house too much so I don't need the all day battery of the Ego. You didn't say whether you ordered juice or not. If not you should do so soon so you aren't left going back to analogs while you wait for another order to arrive. The carts that come with your new toy won't last very long and usually aren't very good tasting. If you want info on juices just ask and you'll get a lot of opinions and a lot of good advice.

I don't know whether its standard in most two piece kits but the Vapor4Life kit I got came with the following:

2 Automatic Batteries
1 USB Passthrough
1 Portable Charging Case
1 Carrying Case-Your choice of Color
1 VK USB Charger
1 VK Wall Charger
1 BOX OF 5 VK CARTOMIZERS- Choose one Flavor/Strength

The cartos won't last you long as stated above. You will mess around with them, overvape at first and juice is the best way to go. There are a lot of videos available on easy ways to refill the cartomizers. Everyone has their preference on liquid too but I've come to LOVE Tasty Vapors Cherry Cola.

When I received the Riva, it came with two batteries, two atomizers and a cone... along with an ac adapter, usb cable and 10 cartridges (unfilled). It seems most kits will come with the basic hardware necessities to get you started but you will need to double check to make sure you have the juice/prefilled cartos to get you by.

the 510 is a good one to start with. 3 of my friends have quit smoking with them and another just ordered one yesterday (after trying a friend's Volcano Magma he ordered a Joye 510).

you should be happy with it. definitely look into filling your own carts. there are way more flavors available and it makes it that much more enjoyable.

My kit came with 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, 5 prefilled cartridges and a wall charger. The 5 cartridges will only last a day or 2 if that's all you've got. It looks like you didn't order juice so do it as soon as possible. There's a lot of juice vendors and everyone has their favorite. If you want specific recommendations start another thread and ask.

Jon, I know exactly how you feel, I've been vapeing about 2 weeks now, and I'm on my 3rd kit.

For me, I did not like filling the cartridges and I was not very good at it - seemed to have juice everywhere, and I either overfilled or underfilled.

It was getting to be too much "work" and it was pushing me back to analogs - just easier to deal with.

Then I went to vapor4life and ordered the manual kit with cartomizers (instead of an atomizer with a separate cartridge)

I COULD NOT be happier - it works GREAT and for me the convenience of the cartomizer is fabulous.

I know going in it's a LOT more money to use the cartomizers, but it's all about what works for you.

I was like you as well that I didn't want to spend too much money up front - but I ended up wasting money on an ego (atomizer died after two days) and an intellicig before the vapor4life

the V4L kit cost over $90 but worth it.
