so ive been steeping my new RY4 for about 24 hours, i go to check on it and shake it up and find a fly floating in it. i promptly removed the fly and shook it up and to avoid future fly visitation, i rubberbanded a paper towel to the open top. is this going to make any difference in the steeping process?

Eeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwww there's a fly in your juice!!!! lol

If I have a juice that smells really chemically or perfumey I will usually let them steep with the cap off overnight a night or 2, (tho that looks like a really big bottle, so may need more than just a night or 2). But I don't take the entire top off, just the cap, and leave the top part on still, but letting some air go in through the hole...

it is a really big bottle, 4 oz/125ml and theres no dripper cap, just the screw on cap, i closed it up last night, i think its probably done steeping, the smell has gotten phenomenal.

one thing i noticed though, when i shake it, instead of being translucent, it becomes opaque but when it settles after shaking, its translucent again, is that a problem?

Sounds like it gets opaque from air bubbles when shaking, ive found that squeezing the bottle to suck new air in and shaking it several times a day seems to introduce more air and air exchange to the bottle/juice n really sped up steeping for me, i use this method now instead of tops off...

next time just let the fly have a vape and he wont go for the juice :)
