am i right in thinking ive melted the insulator ? and need a new insulator to repair this base ??

If im right , where o where am i going to find one

i just removed the "burnt plastic" from the inside hole of the base

the "pin" is in the machining and is probably left to seat the insulator

i dropped a small oring around the "pin" , screwed in whats left of the insulator ...and

its fixed

although i would love a spare to restore to factory condition

from the diagram , i need a

"SS GGTS Bottom Cap Insulator" any ideas on where i can buy one from ??

cheers

cheers , appreciate it

i dont think the "pin" is an issue , it would trap the insulator when installed

i could always grind it off it it causes an issue

would like to upgrade the bottom cap to a brass JGG when the become available

Then you won't need the axis or the insulator or the cap. You will have to buy the full bottom cap

it looks like to me the screw that holds the spring in the center post is stuck this should be removed and assembled again make sure its good and tight to hold spring in replace insulator if needed
