hmm...I'm wondering what anyone is doing with 50 gals of VG!!! I have a gallon of PG and could not go through it in 5 years of vaping.
My advice on this...is find a vendor that you like and purchase from them. It's fun to play with DIY...I've done it for over a year. But I still find myself returning to the juices that I have purchased from a good vendor. I still add certain flavor boosts....but have decided that...."it takes a village" to create the perfect vape for me. ;)

i know what you mean... i said pure nicotine because my friend said thats what it was.. i know the contents of nicotine and how dangerous it is...ive been to websites where they only sell nicotine juice and it has a base so i know that its not pure... but thanks for your sensitivity...

Brad... you're really beginning to worry me.

As others have said, nicotine in high concentrate is EXTREMELY dangerous. Even getting it on your skin is deadly.

I use 60mg nicotine juice, which is only 6%, and I use gloves when I handle it. Because 6% nicotine is still deadly.

"My friend says it's this" isn't good enough. We're talking HIGHLY DEADLY substances. You want to know EXACTLY what strength it is, EXACTLY what the other ingredients are, and EXACTLY what quality of nicotine you're working with.

If your vegtable glycerin is safe for consumption, it should say "USP" somewhere on the bottle. If it doesn't don't touch it. If it's more than a year old, don't touch it.

But honestly... with how little you know about the substances you have, and how little you know about the chemistry involved... I wouldn't do this at all if I were you.

At the very least, buy nicotine juice and VG from one of the trusted suppliers here. It just isn't worth the risk.

I've made a couple mistakes while learning how to mix, forgotten how much of X ingredient I used, over-filled a bottle, etc. And you know what I do?

I just throw out the whole batch and start again.

I'd rather waste a bit of money than wind up killing myself.

And honestly, if you don't want to kill yourself... spend some time studying this and buying safe, proper grade ingredients before you even attempt this.

nalo_b is my brother but we live on different islands but my friend lives down the road from me and he makes bio diesel... after he adds the methanol he heats it up and methanol evaporates at 148 degrees . i always wondered how safe it is but he just drinks it in front of anybody who dont believes that its safe, and its not a sip either he chugs it... but anyway when the methanol evaporates he drains off what is called the "VG".. i wish there was a company to mix it for me here in hawaii but there is none. i also use the VG to clean stuff...

Good call. Your safety is important!

Here's the DIY liquid section. Have a nice long read, and learn about it.

If you want to go study this a bit, and then try it again, these guys are suppliers of high-quality ingredients. I bought some of my DIY stuff from them, including my 60mg nic juice, and they're great. High-quality stuff, good customer service, fast shipping. They're also having a sale on the unflavored nic juice:

And again, here's a really simple calculator you can use when you're ready to try it.

EVERYONE has a walmart or health food store around

The receipt for my bottle of VG just happened to be sitting right in front of me. It was $2.98 for 6oz at my local WalMart.

I found it in the pharmacy/drug section, but other's have reported finding it in the craft section. ymmv.

EVERYONE has a walmart or health food store around, i can promise u VG is UNDER $10 there. for lots of it too!

hey rick whats the exact name of it ? im taking mistress's advice and going to buy it instead of processing the glycerin myself... $10 a bottle is stll cheaper than the filters i use that costs $39 each and i could only filter 1 gal. with one... i love this forum site...

Aloha Brad!

You made the correct decision cuz! Sounds like what your friend makes IS glycerin because most of the glycerin in use now is a by-product of biodiesel production (and pg will soon be made from the surplus glycerin).

HOWEVER, what your friend makes is industrial grade glycerin. It has to be further refined and purified to pass very stringent USP (United States Pharmacopeia) verification requirements before it can use the USP mark.

So, good call my friend!

heres what happened... i took the glycerin from him and heated it up to about 250 degrees to burn off whatever methanol was left. methanol evaporates at 148... but the next step would be to rinse it so the other chemicals would sink to the bottom... in the middle of the rinse and heated process my friend came over and looked at the bucket the glycerin was in(i was letting it cool a bit before i rinsed it with water, you know what that would of done) and said hey brad what did you do to this glycerin i told him what i did so then he said i think you found a way to extract more of the bio fuel from the glycerin.... i laughed in confusion but bio fuel is totally harmless... so i immediately came to this forum and saw that mistressnomad and others posted similar things about how cheap it is to get... i just didnt want to spend more time making my own glycerin when i could just buy it online for a cheap price.. the filters i bought cost me $39 each. and one could only do 1 five gal. bucket... maybe i could of bought 2 gal. of glycerin with it.

I do know how to make my glycerin clean and consumable ... but the thought and the insights from everyone about playing with high nicotine worries me because i do not have the proper tools needed nor the place, i believe the area should still be sanitized if were talking about USP....

Above all i would like to thank everyone on this thread who have helped me learn so much in my very first post. But i do know that im not a e-liquid doctrine but someday i will be!!!:vapor::p

another person asking the right questions, woohoo, lol I'm about to buy my first e-cig and was really thinking about making my own e-juice since in the long run it'll be cheaper and this really helped me. The more I read about all this the more excited I get. Can't wait to buy my first kit.

I've been making e-juice right from the start, and I'm still working out the finer points, but so far, so good! Just read read read, and I'm sure you can do it. :)
