Thanks... So far, I haven't found
any juice flavor that I really
love. I've tried a variety of Mister-E-Liquid flavors, some sweet, three different menthol varieties from Mount Baker, one completely unvapeable menthol from Voda, and this weekend I tried like 5 different sweet juices from 4EverEjuice at a local shop. The juices from Mount Baker are 50/50 and the ones from 4EverEjuice are closer to 70/30 (Mister-E-Liquid are 67/33). I haven't found that I have a bad reaction to either PG or VG, except for the one Voda juice which made me feel like I was inhaling thick soot - it was horrible. I thought that was an issue of too much VG, but since the Mount Baker juices are 50/50 and they don't do that to me, I've come to believe it's an issue of brand/quality.
So far the only thing I can stand is menthol flavor, but I don't really like it much. That makes me sad... I keep reading how people love this or that juice flavor, and I want to experience that! Someone said to try flavors that I like in foods and beverages, so I thought strawberry, pear, watermelon, cappuccino, etc would fit the bill... but I hated the sweet quality of the vapor.
Please tell me I'm not hopeless!
Dear Hopless in Arizona,
Wassamatter binky? Vape got you down?

Is your PG more like PU and ya don't know what to do?

Well look alive! Embrace your boring vaporness and lower your expectations!
Seriously:
One of the most important things for anyone new to vaping is to find one or two liquids you want to vape all day. You don't
need more than that to get off to a great start and keep you off the analogs. You may get the impression on this board that unless you have found 12 liquids that are your all day vape there is something wrong with you. NoooOOOooooOOOoo! I got started with two very basic, not sweet, flavors. I didn't really branch out until after my first nine months. Be boring - it's not a character flaw.
I don't know if you smoked menthol. Regardless, you have a couple menthols working for you right now and that's a good thing. Most new vapers go through short fits where their liquids taste like nothing

Not sure why, but it happens to most of us and our sense of taste relative to liquids goes flat. When that happens one of the only flavors that gets through for us is... ta da! - menthol. (And other really strong flavors like clove and cinnamon. ) That makes your initial like much less than hopeless. For that you gets a banana dance.
"But I want to like it all! What do I do?" Hurry up: go slow and lower your expectations.
Ok, having even one liquid that works for you is obviously a must. After that everything is a matter of... much less importance. Some people like just about anything. Some people can - and will - vape just about anything, whether they like it or not. A few people are really "fussy" and don't seem to like much of anything at all. That can be a real dilemma for a few people. (But a lot of people like to complain a lot about everything - even vaping - too.) You have to find out what you is and there can be a lot of variables involved.
In order to figure that out
don't be in any rush. There is nothing worse than seeing noobs blow a boat load of money on huge orders from places they never tried before, only to find out they don't like any of it. That can get real frustrating - and expensive - real fast. If you can embrace your boring nature and admit you have only two liquids you sorta like, there is no reason to rush this process.
I just bought 30 liquids from VapersRUs and I don't like any of it!!! Why does that happen? Well, the person might be a fussbudget. More likely VapersRUs will be using the same base liquids in all their stuff, and flavorings from the same place too. If there is something a vendor is doing in one of their liquids that you really don't like, chances are high it can be a repeat performance with the other 29. Stick with small samples in small sizes when you try out any new place. More than a half dozen sample sizes is not a good idea on a first time order at an untried place for anyone, noob or not. Try new vendors - but exercise modesty on any first time order. And do it one at a time. If you get lucky and find something you really love you can stop right there for now, instead of having four unopened orders of "buyer's remorse" cluttering up your desk.
Should you find yourself developing a huge stash of YARK!
don't just toss it down the drain! One persons YARK! is someone else's vaping nirvana. Sell it or PIF it in the classifieds.
I'm still not quite sure if your issue is the sensation of the vape or the flavor itself. If you are wondering if it's the vape get yourself some unflavored liquids, one each in 100 PG, 100 VG and something in between. Three like that will do it if you are unsure about the differences in throat hit, vapor production and other sensory issues between PG and Vg. And you just might find out you like vaping unflavored - a lot of us do. Can't get more boring than that! lol If it's the flavors well, some of us just don't care for sweet stuff. There, I said it. Again - not a character flaw. You is not hopeless. You is not alone on that one.
If you are stuck local vape shop's that let you sample can be a new vapers' bestest friend. If you can try before you buy, and not buy what you don't like, what more can you ask for? Do vape responsibly - at least buy something even though the prices will be higher. You get a service outta the deal, and that's worth the price on a couple few bottles if you find something you like. At least short term.
"I know you will love Elephantine Vapors - everyone does." Well, no - everyone does not. Read reviews but don't expect them to be gospel truth in any way. Preference in liquids based upon reviews just doesn't work like that for most of us. If it could, that would make finding a liquid you like soooo much easier.
Try The Vapor Room, especially if you like menthols and want something better. GACK! THAT WAS A REVIEW! Well, I like their stuff anyway. Especially the tobaccos. Stay away from the fruits and sweets - if you don't like sweet flavors chances are they aren't for you as their flavor level is pretty intense. Exception: Maybe the lemon meringue - good lemon, not super sweet. They have sample sizes - pick any flavors you want - and a first time order gets a free 15 ml bottle of your choice. Plus every order gets a free 3 ml sample. (You can even ask for a flavor choice on the 3 ml freebie, but you don't always get your choice.) It can be a good deal on a first time sampler order.
You will sort this out. Finding liquids you just like - forget the love thing short term - is the hardest part for some of us. Best wishes.
