My vape-future may depend on this! I'm three weeks in and I am feeling discouraged.

I was SO hoping I'd discover the plethora of flavor sensations I keep reading about here on ECF... the fruits, the desserts, etc... but so far, every sweet flavor I've tried has given me this weird uncomfortable feeling in my throat... It feels like inhaling thick, cloying, sugar fumes (best way I can describe it). Anyone else not able to vape the sweet juices?

But this story gets worse. So far, I haven't found any juice flavor that I really love. :(

I've tried a variety of Mister-E-Liquid flavors, some sweet, three different menthol varieties from Mount Baker, one completely unvapeable menthol from Voda, and last weekend I tried like 5 different sweet juices from 4EverEjuice at a local shop. (The juices from Mount Baker are 50/50 and the ones from 4EverEjuice are closer to 70/30 (Mister-E-Liquid are 67/33).

I haven't found that I have a bad reaction to either PG or VG (except for the one Voda juice which made me feel like I was inhaling thick soot - it was horrible... I thought that was an issue of too much VG, but since the Mount Baker juices are 50/50 and they don't do that to me, I've come to believe it's an issue of brand/quality.)

Honestly, so far the only thing I can stomach is menthol flavor, but please note... I don't really like it that much.

This makes me sad... I keep reading how people love this or that juice flavor, and I want to experience that joy and satisfaction! Someone said to try flavors that I like in foods and beverages, so I thought strawberry, pear, watermelon, cappuccino, etc would fit the bill... but I am hating the quality of sweet juice.

Please tell me I'm not hopeless! What can I vape that I will fall in like with? :vapor::unsure:

I have been vaping this for the past 2 years.

Tennessee Tobacco E-Liquid - Hand Made in the USA and Always Free Shipping!

I am like you and all other flavors I have tried in the past were too sweet. This flavor is mild, kind of nutty, with maybe a hint (if that) of sweetness. Have you ever opened up a box of cigars and smelled it. Not really sweet but has a nice smell. That's how this vape is.

I'd recommend trying some of the "ice" flavors, or even mixing a bit of menthol with your fruity juice to cut the sweetness a bit. You'll get a taste of the fruit, but the menthol tends to cut that cloying sweetness that sometimes comes along with it, at least that's what I've found. I've also found that what I like in food isn't necessarily what I like to vape. I don't really care for Thin Mint GS cookies, but when I grabbed a random handful of flavors from a clearance bin at the local vape shop, the only one I really dug was Chocolate Mint. There's SO many different vendors and flavors out there there is bound to be something you like! And honestly, even a so-so tasting juice still tastes way better than a cigarette.

Atomic Fish Hot Cinnamon Cherry e-liquid from Electronic Cigarettes of Houston this is a strong cinnamon and cherry very tastey not to sweet. Tons of flavor. But dont use it with plastic.
If you are any where near Tuscon hit Freedom smokes USA they will let you try as many of their juices as you want. They have lots of flavors. They are mostly mediocre but it would be a good way to get an idea of what you might like and then you can find some one who makes that flavor a little better.

Have you tried a lemon or a lime where there is more tartness to it yet? Those two are a couple of my favorites and I vape them on a regular basis.

Thanks for this advice - I will try the citrus flavors.

Thanks as well to everyone who tried to help - I so appreciate it.

Adding menthol to sweet flavors definitely makes them more palatable - I'll just keep going down this road and pray I find something that makes my mouth happy :)

Has anyone tried Orange de Sangre from Highbrow Vapors? It sounds amazing.

I just converted a friend who had similar issues with vaping. She would cough every time she inhaled vapor. Part of the reason was that she hadn't cleaned her clearomizers in over a month, so her wicks and coil were "gunked up" with old e-liquid. What kind of atomizer are you currently using? Have you cleaned your atomizer lately? If you are using a clearomizer, are you using a top- or bottom-coil clearo?

Another culprit may be your e-liquids may not be wicking properly. For top coil clearomizers, you have to tilt often to get the e-liquid to the coil when the liquid gets low. For bottom coil clearos, you may need to remove one of the wicks before pouring any liquid into the tank. There are lots of videos on Youtube with instructions as to how to clean your clearomizers/cartomizers/atomizers.

Try different ratios of PG/VG. Generally, PG provides more flavor and throat hit while VG provides more vapor and tastes sweeter. If all of the liquids tastes too sweet, maybe try less VG, for example, 70 PG/30 VG or 80 PG/20 VG ratio. Most vendors will accommodate, but it's best to message them about altering the PG/VG ratio.

Don't give up. You're only 3 weeks into vaping, and it takes awhile before anyone has found their all day vapes. Try lots of different vendors. Some examples are:

www.altcig.com
Gourmet E-liquid & Signature E-Juice Flavors
ECBlend E-Liquids - Something Better
E Cig Juice @ *_Highbrow Vapor_* - E Liquid Store, Shop our Store for Ecig Products.
Roar Vapor: Home page

There are many, many more vendors to choose from, and if anyone else has vendors they love, I hope they will post their web addy. My advice is to buy the sample packs that most vendors have on their sites, so if you don't like a juice, you won't waste money on a large bottle.

If you have any more questions, I am happy to answer them.

My all day vape and favorite menthol is from The Vapor Room. It's called Port Menthol.

I get it at 18mg. 50/50 vg/pg.

Smooth, not overpowering, tastes wonderful, decent throat hit and I have no bad reaction to it at all.

I would recommend it to ANYONE who likes or wants to try a top of the line menthol flavor.

Sometimes you have to give some juice a bit of time as well. I got some Kryptonight from Diamond Vapors last week. At first, I didn't really care for it. It tastes pretty much like Sprite, and I don't like Sprite. But after a week of just putting the tank on my battery every now and then just to use it up, I've come to really like it. Even though I still hate Sprite.

I do love the sweet juices I've been using, but because they're so sweet, I can't use them too much. I pretty much keep my sweet juices at home and use them at the end of the day, and take my tobacco flavors and other less-sweet juices (such as Kryptonight) to work. I carry 3-5 tanks with me all day because I can't find that "all day vape" juice yet.

I'd recommend looking into tea flavors. I got a Black Tea flavor from HHV that very lightly sweet. Nothing but the PG for sweetness, and the flavor is very light as well.

Another flavor that I find mixes well with some fruits and quite a few sweet juices is cinnamon. I like cinnamon apple and cinnamon danish for example. The tea suggestion is also a good one. I very much like a Chai Tea flavored juice ... it has a bit of spice to it and is not as bitter or strong as some tea flavors can be.

Whatever you do, don't give up, you'll get there! :)

Seriously, hallucinoJEN has a good point. I was lucky in that I found a juice I really liked almost immediately. Of course I didn't *know* it because I hated it when it first arrived and I set it aside. Luckily I learned about steeping on this forum, tried it several weeks later and it's been my number one for several months now. So for the first month or so (until I 'rediscovered' the one I just mentioned), I hadn't liked any juice either.

Give yourself (and your tastebuds) some time. I had to learn to appreciate the different flavors, they didn't jump out at me at first.

Maybe try diluting some of the liquids you have to get a lighter flavor. As an experiment, take one and dilute part of it with VG and part of it with PG and see if you prefer one over the other.

Here's a suggestion for an additive that's supposed to "sour up" your juice*:

Sour 20% - Flavor Concentrate (TFA)

I post the Wizard Labs site because that's the only place I buy my flavorings from. You may find it at other vendors as well.

*I say "supposed" because I haven't tried to sour anything up yet! Seems like it might be a solution for you, though. (And I just noticed they're out of stock, but you can register to have them email you when it comes back in. They replenish stock often.)

OK update: I found another juice I can stand. Still not in love with anything... But at least I have a second flavor in my arsenal. It's Orange de Sangre (blood orange) from Highbrow Vapor. It's got an orangey taste on the exhale but it's not sweet. Not super strong in flavor - I could have done with it doubled in flavor strength actually... I dripped it into a carto to try,and as an afterthought, added a couple drops of menthol as well. Decent. Not mind blowingly great, but decent.
