Uh, you can't read mAh on a battery, other than maybe the label.

You can read volts. If that's 1.57 volts, the battery is fit to be recycled. If it's from a laptop, it's not suitable for vaping. The discharge curve can't handle the power that vaping needs, and you have a time bomb in hour hand.

You are the only one responsible for safety when you use an unregulated devise. Your battery doesn't care how uninformed/informed you are.

You make a mistake - tick, tick, BOOM!

Hi, Got my first Mod kit (4nine mod clone and Kayfun clone) this weekend after using ego kits for a couple of years. I got a soshine charger with the kit but the battery I got (i was told was recovered from a laptop) when fully charged reads as 157 mah. Sorry for my ignorance but that isnt very good is it?

2 Questions:

1 - How are you reading the mah ?

2 - Why are you using a Used Battery Scavenged from a Laptop?

Do you have the Soshine h2 charger? I have one (v2, the v1 doesn't charge properly) and I'm quite happy with it. The mAh reading it shows is not the total capacity of the battery but an indication of how much energy has been charged in the charging cycle. This means that the buffer l number will depend on how discharged the battery was when it was put on the charger. If it was at 4.0v or so then 157 mAh sounds about correct. In any case, you should not use batteries sourced from a laptop battery pack. Use only high discharge safe chemistry (IMR/hybrid) batteries, and educate yourself on battery safety and ohms law. I also believe the 4nine needs button top batteries, and the atomizer needs to have a 510 pin (positive) that protrudes significantly. Otherwise you risk shorting the mod, and with the wrong batteries you might then be dealing with something akin to a pipe bomb.
