Help with build

I'm trying to build a nanocoil and I'm getting ridiculously low readings on my multimeter, right now I've got 28 gauge kanthal at about 10 wraps around a needle that's a little smaller than a millimeter. And when I check the ohms I'm getting about .1 the same build on the same needle with 26 gauge wire has significantly higher resistence. What am I doing wrong??

Update: I tried building the 28 gauge around a 5/64 inch screwdriver and got the same reading but the 26 is still getting what I would expect. Also when building With the 26 gauge it read right but when I went to fire and adjust it the lead from the positive post was heating bright red before the coil in some positions.

I think it should be about 0.7 ohms.

Are you sure it's kanthal and not nickel wire?

Yeah it's Kanthal, got it from the same place I get my 26 gauge and that one reads fine. I've used the 28 with larger coils and haven't had this happen, it usually reads what I expect it to

Did you oxidize the wire?
Just guessing, I'm new to rebuilding myself.

You have a short. Check the positive pin all the way down to the 510 pin. Make sure the insulators are correctly in place. Something is out of line for you to be getting an essentially dead short reading.

That's what I figured but I'm not seeing anything in there, can you unscrew the posts on an igo w?

Are your screws tightened up well? I've found sometimes when using posts with holes, sometimes those screws will need to be re-tightened up on occasion. Like maybe the wire moves a little, to where it's a little loose and the screw needs to be tightened up some more.

Well after 2 trips up to the B&M turns out you're 100% correct here. Spools got mixed up and the gave me nickel wire
