I haven't tried them, but Smoktech makes a clone that looks like the Kanger Evod line that's called the Aro and the heads are reported to be interchangeable with the Protank T3S heads, but the Protank heads won't screw far enough into the Smoktech Aro to work because of a flange that interferes. Many say that the Aro heads work fine in the Evod and Protank from what I read.

It would be nice if someone else would make clone heads that work in Kanger products. Maybe Kanger would sit up and take notice and fix their issues.

Post #12 from the above thread ...

I have an ARO here, as well as a ProTank and a MT3. The thread diameter of the MT3 is a little smaller than the inside of the ARO, so the T3s base won't fit it, being the T3s is the same thread as the T3. The ProTank coil will screw into the ARO base, but there's a little shoulder on the ProTank coil that's a hair bigger than that of the ARO coil and doesn't allow the base to reach the threads. It looks like the inside of the ARO could be Dremeled out to allow it to take the ProTank/T3s coil. The ARO coil works and vapes just fine in the ProTank, so it looks like that shoulder is the only difference between the ProTank and the ARO coils.

Incidentally, the ARO hits just like the Protank and the ProTank Mini. The glass tank doesn't affect the flavor the way a plastic one does, so all you get is your juice. I don't know that I'd ever vape out of anything other than glass again... Spoiled, I guess..

I'm beginning to wonder if there's a common supplier to those companies who have high coil failure rates. It's common in fabrication to sub out small assemblies to someone who has an assembly line already set up. That may be happening with Kanger and Aspire on the bad coil assemblies. Maybe someone is supplying them with the wires already assembled and they wind the coil around a silica wick and install it. Who knows?

I've often wondered why they don't use a wire welding process to join the non-resistive legs to the resistive wire center. It's quicker than soldering and the wire ends actually melt together and will withstand heat. It's a no brainer to me, but they seem to prefer the solder method.

New stuff arrives this morning! So excited! Had a quick question on rebuilding the coils and also cleaning them. If the soldering is the issue would it be worth my time to reuse them or should I wait for good coils to reuse? I have about 10 of the bad coils. Don't want to waste any time if they won't work. Thanks! :)

Watch Rip Trippers for some pointers on how to do a Protank.

Thanks! :) I will definitely look into building my own coils soon! :) So far good on the Totally wicked coils! It's been over 24 hours YAY! ;) I really like the BDC Tank too. Alot of liquid storage so i only had to fill it twice yesterday and haven't had to since! they also warranty their coils for 2 days so if you get a "bad" one they will replace. I do like the ego c+ i got as well and i have used it a few times but still prefer the bigger vape hit from the BDC tank. :) I'll keep you posted but i can't tell you how much i appreciate all the advice, suggestions and information. :) So helpful and finally I know I am not crazy! :) Well at least when it comes to this issue lol! :)
Have an awesome weekend! I'll have to post an update when i have to change my first coil! :)

I know this is an older post but I am seeing a trend. The kanger single coils for the evod just don't last like they used to for me and I am guessing there are some junk ones floating around. I used to change a coil every week and lately its 1-2 a day, no change in setup on a 6 battery rotation.I vape the same juice because its the most cigarette tasting I can find. Just bought a nautilus mini and a bunch of the bvc heads so we will see how that goes. It is still a lot cheaper than 2 packs of smokes a day (especially in ny) but looking to educate myself on the rebuild able dripping atomizers and maybe go that way.
