Hi all, Just got my Riva510.
it's currently charging, while i figure out how to set it up.

First things first, probably a stupid quesiton
which end of the cartidge goes into the atomizer? the end with the cotton or the plastic end?

and also, after the charge is complete I'll drip a couple of drops on the atomizor, fill the cartridge up and assemble it with the cone and just vape?
can i leave it overnight or do i have to disassemble it before I sleep /go out etc.

Also i bought all vg liquids as i didnt know what pg or vg meant and during checkout just seem to have selected all vg liquids i read now it doesnt matter though, let me know if the other one is better

thanks all

The poly end goes into the atty. If you look at the atty, you'll see the bridge which is covered with a wire mesh. The filler in the cartridge goes against that and wicks liquid down to the coil. I think it helps to line up the cartridge with the bridge length wise but it'll fit either way. Be sure and blow out the atty first. Sometimes there's a primer in it that doesn't taste to good.

For most, pg is better for flavor and th but not vapor, and vg is better for vapor, but mutes flavors and th a little. Vg is thicker and can have wicking problems. You'll need to experiment and find what ratio you like best. I'd suggest ordering some compatible or the same flavor juices with more pg, then you can mix them to see what you like.

WELCOME TO THE ECF

It'll be the end with the cotton. Since that's where the juice supposedly drips out of it into the atomizer.

Yeah, just drip 6 drops into your atomizer and wait for 7 minutes for it to completely soak into the mesh and wicking material. While your waiting for that, you can fill your cartridge. Yes, you can leave it overnight. It's not an issue at all.

VG is generally thicker than PG. Some people are allergic to PG but, some people aren't including me. The problem with VG is it can sometimes clog your atomizer/cartomizer. Which is why it's a good practice to clean your atty after a little bit to keep it working correctly.

Advantages of VG is that it produces more vapor. Disadvantages is that the flavor and throat hit isn't as good as PG. Good thing is that you can get some more sample of PG or I highly suggest PG/VG mixes such as 80/20 or 70/30. Which give you great TH, flavor, and vapor.

Another suggestion is to get some cartomizers which will greatly improve your experience. Or you can try out dripping with your atomizer minus the cartridge. If your interested in cartos, here's a link:

Crystal Clear Vaping

All 15 carto deals have free shipping, drip tip, and syringe (if you wanna fill your cartos that way that is). It's one of the best deals out in the US. I recommend either the Boge LR or the Mega LR 1.7 resurrectors.

No problem

It's the PG/VG ratio (70 PG/ 30 VG). You can clean your atomizers in multiple ways. Some use a hand steamer, others use a supersonic jewelry cleaner. I just use some isopropyl alchohol (91% +) and let the atomizer/s sit in there for a few hours. Afterwards, I thoroughly rinse it out with water. Blow out of both ends and repeat a few times. Finally, I let it sit for 24-48 hrs to dry.

If you blew your atomizer out already. Then you have to prime it again. Meaning that you have to drip 6 drops and let it sit for 7 minutes or more before vaping.

If your atty is dry, it may not be primed. Don't worry too much about it, some attys come with primer, some not. If the plastic wrap the atty is packaged in looks wet, then there is primer. It may not taste good for the first few hits. If you're very worried about it, rinse it with some vodka and blow it out. Nothing fancier is really required.

I would use only about 3 or 4 drops of juice to prime the atty. 6 drops may flood it (gurgling and no vapor - the cure is to blow it out). Then add liquid to the cart until it looks a bit slushy on top, pop it in and and vape.

And yes, you can leave your e-cig all set-up, ready for that first morning cig craving, but put something under it in case it leaks. Newbies especially tend to have leaking issues until they get used to how much juice to use.

or only this one time.

Of all the liquids I've tried none have tasted like their analog counterparts - i guess you cannot duplicate the taste of burnt chemicals in e-juice.

You should only add liquid to the atomizer when new and after cleaning or if you drip. When dripping you would drip a couple of drops directly into the atomizer and vape with a drip tip or a cart with the polyfill removed.

To find a PG/VG ratio that works for you start with small batches. You could start with 50/50 and work your way from there. Remember, PG will give you more throat hit, is thinner and flows better and does not dull the flavor. VG will dull the flavor somewhat and give more of velvety feeling to the vapor. It will provide more vapor but with less throat hit. VG is thicker and will flow slower.
