Cool kit, GREAT PV :toast:

As said above:
1. Charge batteries
2. Install batteries (button top up)
3. Fill carto (standard carto holds ~1.2ml = ~24drops - if drip filling remove rubber tip/10 drops/wait to soak in/10 drops/wait to soak in/~4 drops till top is slushy)
4. Attach filled carto and check resistance (5 button clicks, then sets of 2 clicks till window says "Ao")
5. Set voltage (5 button clicks to "Pu" and then adjust up or +2 clicks to "Pd" and adjust down)
6. Vape away (can add a few drops to carto as it runs down)

Just looked at the starter kit and it looks like the give you 3.0ohm cartos. 3.5v is going to be way lite. I use 3.0ohm cartos all the time at 4.9v (my general rule of thumb is to start at atty/carto resistance +2 which gives about 8 watts power - nice medium/warm vape - and then adjust up/down by 0.1v to fine tune to the juice)

I suspect this is what is causing the confusion. Do you have a box that looks like this:

Notice the little cartridge beside the box in that pic. That is a cartomizer, and it does NOT have any juice in it. If you just put that on your provari and start vaping, you'll get a burnt taste that you'll never forget.

That little cartomizer needs to be properly filled with juice and, ideally, you would have a drip tip on it (but the drip tip is not required).

Tell me if I'm off base here.

Yes, I added a 510 atomizer (on my neighbor's recommendation). Using only the atomized cartridge, I used the condom method and added some juice, but I have the settings low to start and am not getting much of a "throat hit" or much mist at all. I guess I need to learn about all the different settings, i.e., which settings I adjust for more mist.

Increase the voltage to 4.4 V then try and go up from there slowly (by .1-.2 V) and see where your sweet spot is. With a 3 Ohm cartomizer, it should be between 4.7 and 5.5 V but every person has a different one and sometimes it varies even based on the specific juice.

What nic strength is the juice? Do you know the PG/VG ratio by any chance?

Nicotine increases the throat hit, while high VG mutes it.

Make sure you shake your juice bottles before every fill. Not sure what juice they sent, but most of my juices get better with age (known as "steeping"). I always try new juices the day they arrive (usually SR drip atty - 3.0ohm Cisco306) and then take the cap off (including bottle tip) and let it sit over night in a dark cabinet. Next day I recap, shake real well and try again (rinse and repeat the shake and taste every couple days till its good). Some flavors that were gross or medicinal flavored came around eventually and were good. Some never got "right" so I mice them into better juices to use them up slowly.

Enjoy!
