Hello All! I have been analog free for about 3 weeks now and loving it. Lung cookies are gone and I'm just feeling great.

A buddy got me started with all this. Ive currently got a SMOKTech adjustable voltage APV with a Griffin Rebuildable with clear tank that I got from here: The Griffin - Rebuildable Atomizer Tank

All is well with this, but I decided to upgrade from my 2nd hand rig and new rba to something a little flashier and nice. So I have ordered a SMOKETech ZMAX Rev. 2 in Gun Metal (sort of a black chrome looking color) and am currently awaiting its arrival. I was thinking of upgrading or changing out my RBA also. I would love to find something in the matching black chrome color style. I've poured through about 50 websites of vaping stuff and im having a rough time finding something that is the same style setup as what I currently have. I just a few days ago successfully build a new SS Mesh wick and wrapped a new coil (after a few botched attempts:oops:) and I dont want to change styles now. Plus, I would really like to have two complete setups. My nice unit and my "....." unit I can take anywhere it might be exposed to damage. Also for a backup if I need to do repairs or something.

Any suggestions on something similar to my griffin RBA I can begin to research?

I would really appreciate any help given!

Thanks!

I've read good things about the AGA-T, and just ordered one myself Monday night (or was it Tuesday? haha). People will de-knurl them to give them a smoother look. Glass replacement tanks can be purchased at IBTanked to boot.

Its apparently got a few different available placements for the wick/coil setup too.

I'm sure this is for an entirely different section of the forum, but I have been having issues with The Griffin where I cant get my entire coil to fire just right. I know my wick is oxidized well. But it seems to only burn about 3 of the 5 wraps. When I first got this RBA, the screw that secures the bottom of the wire to the unit (not the one wrapped on the post) tightened the first time, but then seems to strip out after that. It will tighten mostly, but then just turn and not fully tighten. I am an iPhone tech, so I have some tiny washers around and used one of those to get that extra space and it tightens now. Wonder if that has anything to do with it?

no i would believe if it fires its ok if it was loose or no connection it wouldnt fire at all or on and off. could be a bad wrap on the coil itself, i would empty it and check by dry firing the coil and poke at the winds with like a Syringe or scredriver and see if moving them gets it to fire correctly. should always test/dry fire first before filling.

watch this vid, i know its for the ZATTYPRO but it shows real well how to set a coil to fire correctly.

first time I saw this vid all my problems were solved, theres a lot of vids on youtube for this but i trust this guy lol
