This is my first attempt with an rba. I'm making a Griffin (DID clone) rebuildable atomizer but when I go to test the coil for hot spots my Vamo V3 gives me a reading of 1.0 oHm and won't turn on. Clearly I did something wrong with the coil but I don't know what. I watched several rba tutorials and think I have a fair understanding of how they work but can't seem to do it correctly myself. Any input would be appreciated.

You need to increase the resistance of the coil so the Vamo will fire it. Assuming you do not have a short, two ways of doing it are to use higher gauge wire or wrap more turns on the coil. What gauge are you using now and how many wraps did you do?

If you feel you should have high enough resistance from the coil as wrapped, you have a short. That will be hard to get rid of with a Vamo. I suggest you try wrapping a higher resistance coil so a short does not shut it down.
