Hey all,

Just got some pineapple-banana-orange juice today and decided to throw some in my smoktech DCT. After a few mins I noticed cracks developing in the tanks. Are they pretty much useless now or can I still use them?

I only thought that cinnamon flavors cracked these things, so I guess I was wrong. This has been a somewhat expensive learning experience for me.

I cracked one with spiced apple cider. It was impressive, but I would get a new sleeve. For tank crackers like cinnamon, et al, I have taken to making tanks out of 20cc syringes. The syringe plastic is chemically inert and so far, nothing has cracked them including atomic fireball.

Do the caps for the smoktek dct's work in a 20 cc syringe?

No. You make caps out of the rubber plunger that comes in the syringe. there is a thread on here somewhere on how to make them. It's really easy, honestly, and you can crank one out in about 10 minutes.

Save your DCT for safe juices, and use the syringe for ones known to be tank crackers. You will unfortunately have to get another poly sleeve for your DCT.
