Today I got my Diablo drip tip for my 510 and some spare atomizers and low nicotine liquid. Now, what I'm doing is I take the the drip tip off and direct drip onto the bridge about three drops. I put the drip tip back onnand puff away. It's still enjoyable, very much so. Atomizer gets real hot and I'm not 100% sure when it's "done".

So... I know I'm missing something. What's the right way to use a drip tip so I can maximize my atomizer life and enjoy the most flavor? Thanks for any help! :vapor:

You don't have to take the drip tip off. Drip tips are designed so that you can drip juice through them without taking them off. If your atty gets hot, then you're probably hitting it very quickly. It's not that it's a bad thing, but you might want to take a little longer between drags. When the flavor changes and vapor starts dropping off then it's time to add a couple more drops to the atty.

The drip tip, having a larger opening with no "guts," is designed to allow dripping onto the bridge without removing the tip. While leaving the tip on, just drip 2-3 drops down the tip and hit the atty. Then vape away. Depending on how you draw and what liquid you use, a 2-3 drip can last 7 or more "pulls." I think most people get about 10-- I use high vg and get a lot more.

Usually you know it needs a few more drops (remember you don't have to take off the tip just drip through the opening) when there is a sudden loss of vapor, hit, taste, or it tastes dry or heated. One usually goes through a lot more juice, but the flavor hit is much more intense and worth it. Be sure no to flood it with a lot of drops and don't let the atty dry out which can damage it. Re-dripping often (but not enough to flood it) is best.

Good luck and enjoy.

Sounds to be like your doing it right. I take my drip tip off and drip directly also. I think your atty needs some breaking in. Make sure to let those drops soak in and do light primer puffs. Always keep your atty wet and try to balance between flooding. Make sure to keep your connection clean. Take a tissue and wipe the battery connection and a Q tip for the inside connect part. There are videos on youtube on dripping :) I hope you start to really enjoying dripping soon :) After the drip tip, I never turned back LOL Although I will use a carto from time to time. Best of luck :) When flavor and vapor start to fade. Drip again. I always drip 2 to 3 drops. If it's getting to hot let it cool down a little. Maybe your super vaping lol Some atty's I notice run hotter then others. Maybe others have something better to say. This is how I roll lol

Thanks for the help to everyone. I knew you guys are always good for answers. I love this place. It seems like it requires a little more maintenance to drip, am I right on that? Or certainly at least I must be careful to not overdrip or underdrip I'll have to make sure I take care of my atty (<--- look I said it! lol). It was so satisfying to just puff away hanging out last night. I specifically got the driptip for my low nicotine fluids, so I could puff without getting too much nicotine and just enjoy the flavor and the vapor. Like I'm about to go hit up some coffee and I have this low nicotine espresso that I'm really pumped to vape with a fine cup of my saturday joe.

Why do you remove the drip tip to drip? I would think that would defeat the purpose of the drip tip or the drip tip mod.
Nah, it's a good question, no offense taken. When I first put on the tip I tried dripping through the hole and I wound up getting some fluid in my mouth. I maybe was doing it wrong, not sure. I also may have tried to hit it too quickly I think. It was like *drip. *HIT! Probably too fast. So I just took the tip off and direct dripped onto the bridge. Any suggestions for use of the tip?

There is still vapor trapped in the tip. Trapped vapor will prevent the juice from getting down to the bridge and it will go into your mouth. You can clear it out by inhaling it without pushing the button before you drip or you can blow into the drip tip after you've dripped into it. The pitch will change, like a whistle, when the liquid clears the vapor and gets to the bridge.

Good thread. I came here with that exact question about dripping.

Another "stupid" question: I'm aware of the dangers of dripping on auto bats, but I want to try it before I send my Blu back for the refund. Is this the worst idea ever?

Most automatic batteries are not sealed. Excess juice can leak into unsealed batteries when drip destroying them.

I wouldn't do it because if you ruin the battery with juice it could void the warranty and you wouldn't get any money back from them.

LOL. Done it to two batteries before that registered. Funny thing about me is I always read this stuff, noted that auto-batteries were bad-news for dripping and then did it anyway. At least it didn't take me long.

What I did to get liquid in my mouth at first was I put the liquid dropper tip right into the drip tip hole. Like, I stuck it in there. Basically I created an air seal by doing that and water tension kept the fluid then from dripping fully down to the atomizer bridge. Then I sucked it in. So, lesson learned there? Always mimic the youtube how-to videos and just hover the bottle over the hole when you drip in the fluid. Don't try and "mate" the two like I did.

Hi - Just wanted to jump in and say I've been dripping using a Dwarf Dripper's Atomizer on an 801 with auto batteries, and haven't had a problem yet. I know it may be shortening my batt life but the 801's are reasonably cheap. Seems like the Dwarf gets hotter than the regular atomizer, so maybe the liquid's burning off before it gets a chance to leak. Or maybe I'm just huffing away so hard it doesn't get a chance...

Hello, I'm new to all this, in fact I've never dripped. I've got a GLV2 on it's way. In the meantime I've been trying out the GreenSmoke. I ordered the GS because of it's money back guarantee (it will be going back). Right now I'm trying to educate myself on the workings of vaporizers. I want to be ready when I recieve my GLV2. Dripping sounds appealing to me. So my question is after you begin by dropping 3 or so drops in your atomizer if you vape it til it's gone should you put a couple drops back in it before you stop and put it away for awhile? Can you put it away dry? What is the best way and or place to store your device? Will the juice dry up or gum up?

I try to leave my atty upside down on a paper towel over night and let the juice drain out. Sometimes I forget, and I've had a few atty's get kind of sticky. It seems like it's more of an issue with VG getting sticky, though, and different juices from different vendors drain differently for me. A few of the really sweet ones I've used seem especially hard on my atty's. I've had good luck degunking by vaping a really thin menthol juice until things clear up.

I just started dripping too. I had a lot of difficulty trying to figure out what was right and wrong. I've learned a few things that work with my Ego after a couple weeks of trial and error.

1. If my atty is dry enough, it will take 3 drops down the drip tip.
2. I can get about 7-8 good pulls off mine before the flavor takes on a burnt taste. It's a very sudden change.
3. At that point, it's not pleasurable to continue, but the atty is still a little too wet... just a pull or two, so I just puff it out and leave it for the next time. I can't do 2.5 drips very consistently, but 3 is a little flooded if I don't dry it out a little.

Good luck! Try it different ways and see what works for you. One big difference for me was going from a 510 to the Ego. The battery lasts all day on my Ego, where I would have to switch back and forth 2-3 times with the 510. I think the atty I got wasn't as good in my 510 either, but that's probably just that particular supplier.

Happy Vaping!
