Hello there,

I got an EH Pro kayfun v4 which I really like. Seems it's quality made for the most part.....but the resistance keeps jumping around, as is the case for a lot of KF4 clones.

I've tried stretching the spring, changing the spring with one from a spare parts kit, using different 510 pin, flipping the metal piece inside the insulator that the 510 pins screws into......all of which have not corrected the issue.

My build screws are tight, and there is no wire touching the barrel.

I've done quite a bit of research on this thus far, and I can't seem to find an official solution.
- Steam Tuner "Spring Update" - yielded bad reviews from some of my search results
- Kayfunmods.com springless center pin - does not work with 4s center post as it needs the airflow adjustment threading
- Using authentice updated gold KF4 spring - Seems to work for lots of people, not sure if this is THE solution though
- I've read lots of forums mentioning using solid bushings and such - Could someone point me to a link?

Also, couldn't i just buy a beefier spring from a hardware store and drop it in?

Anyway can anyone please point me to a know solution, or a link for modifications supplier?
Please, I really like this tank, but currently it's not useable.

Thanks for any help!

Hey.... Thanks for the input... But all parts are tight.
What I did for the time being is used a pair of pliers to lightly compress the last coil of one side of the spring so it's press fit on to the airflow tube, and it seems to be holding steady now.... But I induced a whistle... Will have to adjust later. Can't believe how touchy this component is... As for the rest of the device.... Vapes awesome.
Hope that helps anyone with the same problem.

Cheers!

I've taken my spring out as part of a check and clean on the bottom section. Twice when I put it back together I had zero resistance until I took it back apart and checked for contact. It seems that the spring may need a retrofit. I didn't know about the spring update that Roxy posted. I had been thinking about stretching it the next time I had it apart. Springs aren't that high tech. Maybe a simple stretch would be in order for more contact. The contact point isn't rocket science, but it does have to touch positively to complete the circuit.

My K4 is a Tobeco clone. It's apparent that the cloning process cloned the defect!

We live and learn when new products come out. After I reassembled my previously bullet proof K4 it wouldn't fire. Resistance checks showed open on the meter. After struggling for a while and consulting the parts list blow up diagram I noticed a little square nut that the center contact screwed into. I found it in the garbage disposal after my wife hit the switch and noticed a new noise! Luckily it only had a tiny nick on the side. If you are missing that square nut you will never get it to fire because it acts as a contact point for the spring.

My wash job also loosened the circular insulator around that nut. It's on the way here from 101Vapes. They have a $5.99 package that includes all the o-rings and insulators as well as a number of metal parts that can get lost as mine did. If you don't already have spares it's a good backup package to have around. In the mean time I'd suggest a bowl for washing parts ... not the sink!
