I ordered 2 of these kits and received them today. So far 1 battery in my kit does not work at all! The light comes on but it seems that the carto is not making a connection? I am sick about this because my husband and myself are sharing 1 kit until kit #3 gets here. I took my second kit to my mom already and hope she does not have these problems. I did take a small screwdriver and raise the screw in the middle as it looks like it is way too far down to make a connection with the carto compared to the other battery. If anyone has a quick fix that I could try I will appreciate it.

Everyone Else! DO NOT try adjusting the center screw. It is not designed to be adjusted.

Wow! That was a super quick response. This has been remedied quickly and is much appreciated!

I had seen another member post that slightly turning that screw had fixed theirs to make a better connection. I don't think I will try anymore DIY fixes. I just loved the other battery so much I got impatient for mine to work. My husband is being nice and sharing his battery. We look like a couple of drug addicts here passing a battery back and forth and huffing on it! lol

Salem, I had this issue on both of mine but only with the cigeasy gold cartos. I just had to tighten the cartos on very securely to get them to work. It caught me off guard at first because I'm used to attaching the cartos very loosely to my KR808. I had to be very careful not to over-tighten as I didn't want to strip the threads. (In other words, don't let your husband tighten it.)

Do you have any other cartos that you can try on the Elegant to test this?

Frank,

Can you email me this fix too? I'm having similar issues and had just decided to tighten the cartos a bit more than usual. I'm just afraid I'm going to strip the threads eventually so I've been using my old regular KR808's.

Thanks,
Trish

I actually tried the Premium V4L cartos, The regular cartos with hard plastic cap, Turbo cartos and a few others. I only turned the screw a tiny bit. But as Frank said it is not a good idea to DIY with these batteries so I am just returning it for a new one. My second battery works great. You can see a huge difference in how far down that middle screw is compared to the one that works. I think that I really just happened to get a defective one and Frank has been faster than lightning at sending out a new one. Sometimes these things just happen. it just makes it harder when you are so excited about getting something and it doesn't work.

Some of the cartos have the label overlapping the air slots. You have to loosen the carto so that it gets air flow and it will work. Loosening the cone helps with some cartos too. I use a soft bristle toothbrush and brush the threads off before each charge. That really helps because they get build up on them quickly.

Yep I had done all those things.

I did hear from Frank and he told me it was a carto problem, not a batt problem. I disagree since I can see how much lower the batt plug is in my Elegant compared to all my other KR8 batts...all 6 of them from various other vendors. Every carto I have works on all but my Elegant, including the cartos I ordered from Frank with my Elegant. I have several different kinds of cartos...wow, cool carts, premiums, cheap as dirt brand, etc. I did not and WILL not attempt to adjust the batt terminal screw plug, but I figured wth, I'll try the carto jerry rig fix I posted and it has every carto I adjusted now working on my Elegant. I will be cautious about watching for leakage from these carts now tho.

I'm still within warranty so I was not very pleased with being told it was bad cartos, and I shouldn't have to fix the problem myself. :( Cigeasy advertises that this unit works with ALL KR8 cartos. I love my Elegant when it works...I just don't think I should have to tinker with cartos to make them work.

Bovinia,

I have not had a chance to get back to my emails since I spoke with you this morning but it sounds like I may have another couple from you. I will try and get you a return tonight. If I run out of gas look for it late morning.
I learn something new everyday! I never knew you could adjust the carts at all. Great fix for the bad boy carts. It also gave me a few clues to why your battery worked fine when I tested it before I shipped it and now there are problems. I will have to run some tests but I am thinking a certain cart, lets call it FAT HEAD, started the problem. If the center of FAT Head was raised higher than normal could it have pushed down the center of the Elegant just enough to cause connection problems? I do know this- some of the different style carts have 2 threads others have 3 and are deeper.
No testing tonight too tired even to vape!

Happy Vaping!

That is a possibility...or maybe I was the fat head LOL. Please know that this post was not a flame against you or Cigeasy...just the facts as they have unfolded for me. Let's solve this problem together. At least for now I have some cartos working on my Elegant :)

Thank you for your help,
Debi / Bovinia
