help with excessive gunk issue

hey everyone, I have been vaping for quite a while now and this is the first time I am having this issue. Ii have been using a patriot atty on a nemesis or nzonic with a vtc4. my wicks keep burning regardless of the different types of wick i use. I first noticed it when i wrapped a twisted 28 ga coil at 0.6 ohms. at first it would work fine but after a few drags when i hit the button it fires but it instantly burns the wicking material but not before creating a weird blackish brown looking coating over the center of the coil which i then have to take the wic out dry burn it and put a new piece of wick back in and as you could imagine switching wicks every hour is very far from convenient. i have tried everything from different atty's, different mods and even different juice. if anyone could assist me with this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

That gunk IMO seems to go with Sweet or dark juices. On most atty's you can do dry burns and it will clear it up some. But you can't do that with cotton wicks. I use ekowool the most and that can be dry burned. Sorry but that gunk is going to happen. Just a matter of how bad and how long it will take. That's why you have rebuildables and replacable heads. You can try soaking in alcohol and the dry burn thing but at some point the wick will have to be replaced. This is based on my experience going on 2 years in August. I hope someone has the magic cure as I have not found on short of no flavor juice.

Without knowing what voltage you're running at, it's hard to specifically say what's wrong. If you're using a standard Mech mod with a 3.7v battery, assuming a fresh battery is pumping out about 4 volts (Realistically, more like 4.2 though) then you're putting 26.6 watts through that coil. That's quite a lot of heat, so it's vaporizing your liquid very quickly. From my experience, the hotter you burn the liquid, the quicker it'll gunk up the coil. I typically vape around 8-10 volts, and I get 5-7 days before my coils become unvapable.

Or perhaps your wick isn't wicking quickly enough to keep up with the coil. If you're chain vaping on something that hot, it's probable that the wick is drying out and causing the burn. You've got to keep that wick wet.

I'm not experienced with sub-ohm vaping, but I'd suggest trying to roll a coil closer to 1 or 1.5 ohms and see if it still clogs as quickly.
