I am a new member I have posted before this is my second time. I have read the tuturals and it confused me a little more. I purchased a E Smke Kit two years ago Did not like the smoke volume. It was like sucking air. I now have purchased aSmoke Tip kit but the throat hit makes me start to cough. So I dropped to a lower nicotine level still does the same thing. I smoked marlboro red and when I posted in the forum they said I should take the throat hit from E cigs ok . They sugggested I was smoking the E cig like a reg Cig. I ried what was suggested it helped but the harshness or hit I dont like I would like it more smooth without cutting so low on nicotine. After reading the tuteral should I get a E cig that you mix your own liquid and if so what would be a good one to start also do they sell catridges that fit smoke tip that has a mixture of the two bases. I want to quit reg cig and I want to find a E Cig and liquid that is affordable and where to buy them. I have not learned the lingo yet and I am new to forums any help would be very much appreciated Thanks cwtx

Hello and welcome CWTX.
For a good start a Riva/Ego/Kgo style might be good. I don't know your budget but they can be found for 35-50 for a good starter kit. These are a little bigger that a mini but the battery lasts 10 times as long between charges and gives a satisfying TH and flavor. I use dual cartomizers, Boge 2.0 cartomizers with mine. 1100Mah is slightly longer than 650Mah but well worth it.
Hoosier supply has a Kgo that is $44

As for liquid I have tried many and have loved a lot of them. I am not sure I would start with DIY until you have a chance to sample and find what you like. I understand the tobacco flavors can be difficult to get right with DIY.

Viking Vapor and ECblend are a couple of vendors whose prices are great, excellent flavor, very flexible with choices for mixing preference, and great customer service. There are many other great liquids out there but for flavor and price, these guys are my two favorites.
Hope that helps and congrats on getting off the analogs, IMO with the right set up and liquid you can do it!

The two most reccommended "step up" PVs for consistancy, durability, functionality and price are these two:

Ego: Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Joye eGo
Riva: Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510
(use discount code 'october20' for 20% off)

As they are 510 threaded you can use almost any 510 threaded devices with them. They are from 650mAh and up battery sizes and should last for 6 hours or more at a time. There is little difference between an ego and riva. The main one is that an ego is regulated to 3.4v or thereabouts and the riva is unregulated from 3.7v. That means the ego will be consistent in its power until the battery is getting low, and the riva will start a little warmer then will drop as you use it.

You can use 510 cartomisers and most would reccommend a boge 510 2.5ohm for quality and warmth of vapour:

Electronic Cigarette - Cartomizers - Boge Cartomizers

If you want one that's cigarette size/shape, the "best" on the market is the volt, bloog and halo g6. They are all essentially the same, only different branding. Regulated 3.6-3.7v batteries at around 260mAh. Good quality auto batteries if you don't like manual.

Volt: Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Starter Kits
Bloog: http://bloogplanet.com/
halo g6: G6 Basic Starter Kit - G6 E-Cig

These are all Kr808D-1 threaded devices so you will need Kr808D-1 cartomisers with these.

If you want to use your own cartomisers you only need to buy blank cartomisers and fill them yourself. The simplest method is to take the top off of them and drip eliquid into the filling until they're moist.

If you want a pg/vg mix then some suppliers will sell eliquids in a premade mix.
