So my buddy and I have decided to get into some DIY, and I'm looking for some recommendations for flavorings.
It would be best for everything to come from wizard labs since thats where our pg/nic etc is coming from.
We're primarily looking to mix fruitier flavors, possibly some fruit cream flavors, and maybe some basic bakery flavors. We're trying to avoid the "candy" tasting fruit flavors as much as possible, and not really trying to make single flavors (cherry, apple), wanting to make combos. We already have EM etc. in the cart, and are just hoping to get advice on awesome real tasting flavors that will mix well! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Edit:
TL:DR- Looking for real tasting fruit flavors, and maybe some cream/bakery flavors to mix in, looking for flavors that will blend well together. (all from Wizard Labs unless there are some companies with better fruits)

I'm new at this but, I ordered sweet cream and vanilla swirl, both TFA from Wizard Labs because I'd seen so many people talk about using them in so many of their recipes. I mean a LOT of mentions on these. Plus I like creamy flavors.

I 2nd going through recipes and choosing. I did that on a bunch of the flavors that I ordered, then some that just sounded good.

Pretty darn good and really easy to work with are Capella's.

Really realistic and really difficult to work with are Flavour Art.

Then the others fall somewhere inbetween. So it depends on how much crap juice you want to make in the beginning really. Any flavoring can work with enough work...

Thank you so much for your response here, I really appreciate someone so experienced taking the time to help a DIY noob out! I've heard good things about Capellas, I may end up biting the bullet and going with flavour art though, I'd like to avoid making crap juice as much as possible... but I feel like it might be worth learning with the flavors I want to use in the long run and having a bunch of trial and error, Any thoughts on this? Also if you were in my shoes, would you stay away from the TFA and LorAnn flavors?

When I was getting my order together, I looked through recipes I wanted to try and made my list from there. I tried to pick flavors that can be used in multiple recipes so that I can make as many as possible.

Yeah, I've done a decent amount of recipe browsing, found most of the cream/additive flavors this way. At this point we're more looking for really realistic flavors that don't have issues when mixing (e.g. really harsh notes, or completely dominant flavor), also wondering if there's any particular flavors that TFA etc. on Wizard Labs does REALLY well. We've just been hearing a lot of really mixed reviews on flavoring from Wizard/TFA/LorAnn and trying to find the great ones and leave the rest without ordering a ton.

Ah, but I have been in your shoes. Well, kinda', there's many more flavorings available now than there was when I started.

I use them all. I try as many as I can. I have 4 different coconuts and use them all and wouldn't think twice about getting a fifth or sixth. Every flavoring brings something to the table. The fun is figuring out what that something is. Sometimes it's completely different than what I thought it may be when I bought the flavoring.

I usually recommend Cap's to new mixers so they can start making vapable stuff real quick. It's easy to work with and the results are pretty darn good for something that easy to work with. Branch out from there. There is no stress in making batches of crap when you have some good juice to vape. You just find that a flavoring doesn't work that way and can eliminate that way from future mixes, so you get closer to what you do want with every crap juice.

I don't stay away from any flavoring. I even have flavorings that I can barely stand to open the bottle because I find the odor to be disgusting, and I even use those flavorings...

You know those threads that are SOOO long you kinda wanna wait for the DVD to come out? I'm tellin' ya, they are SO worth reading. I'm so glad to see what Hoosier has said in regards to different manufacturers. I get kinda "oh no what'd I do?" about some of the ones I've ordered. I have stuff from TFA, have ordered (and am stalking the mail for) Flavor Art, Capella's and Hangsen only based on long threads and recipes I've read. I figure if it's worth doing, it's worth the research, too.

I don't have the experience Hoosier has, but I want good vapes, too. Some of the threads talk about flavors that were used a couple years ago. Some of those flavors are still "go-to's" in the current posts. I feel better about what I've ordered.

Haha, sounds good, thanks again for sharing your wisdom here, I'll be putting a capellas order in along with the few TFA flavors that look good, and a flavorart order in the near future! I can already tell DIY is gonna drain our bank accounts :vapor:

No doubt, both my friend and I have been reading those novel-esque threads as much as possible. Unfortunately there are SO MANY of those threads around, it's tough to figure out which ones too get to first. After everyone's responses here, I suppose the best route is lots of research, T&E, and time. Our end game is to start a solid organic line of juice, but that's probably a couple yrs down the road :) thanks for sharing your knowledge & experience here!
