I am using a Kayfun on my SVD. The lowest OHM coil I have been able to get my SVD to consistently fire at is .9 ohms. I have my SVD set to volts and cranked up to 6.0 volt. How may watts does this translate to? The max wattage setting on the SVD is 15 watts. Does that mean the max output is 15 watts as well? The reason I ask is because the juice I am using hits hard at sub ohm and higher watts. I was told that .6 ohms pushing around 30 watts is ideal, if I remember correctly. I am trying to get as close as possible with my SVD. When I can justify buying a mech mod I will and this will no longer matter. What is the max wattage out put my SVD will fire if I have a .9 ohm coil, 18650 battery set at 6.0 volts? Is it regulated to 15 watts? Or what? Any advice on sub ohm vaping will be helpful. I am 7 weeks off analogs and vaping has saved my life! Thanks

#1 The SVD is not made for sub ohm. You risk frying it. At .9 ohms and 6 volts your at 40 watts and at 6.67amps. Max wattage is 15 watts on the SVD. Sorry but going sub ohm on mods like that is climbing Fools mountain. You will damage it. Wait until you get a vw made for sub ohm or get a mech. Fasttech has clones for a good price but long wait. The Nemesis, Stingray and Chi you rate well. Get copper or brass. They have the new copper hades also. I have a hades it's a good mod. The nice thing about the Fasttech is that it has copper contacts and magnets instead of a spring. Which i love. If you want a vw mod that will do sub ohm get a DNA20 or 30 clone. They are out now and reasonably priced. If you get a box mod get one that uses a 18650 battery. Vamo even makes a DNA 30 now. FYI i have a Seven 22 ww watt that will go as low as .5 ohms. Have a Box mod DNA 30 and Vamo 30 on order. I go sub ohm and I like VW. Dial a vape LOL

The SVD will clamp at a max of 5 amps. If your combo calculates out higher (as Steve says, 6.67), it will adjust down no matter what you have set. I'm actually surprised it doesn't just shut down on low Ω, but the short circuit shutoff calibration is no doubt set to be within a range, so your particular one may be set a the low end.

So you're vaping at (probably) about 3.7 volts regardless of your setting - that comes in at 15.2 watts. (Or maybe at the combo needed to hit about 4.1 amps, yielding 15.1 watts, depends on how the SVD actually regulates.)

You don't need massive power to get good TH. The PG/VG ratio, the flavor, air flow all work for that. 0.6 Ω at 30 watts is "ideal"? To whom? To the person who told you that, apparently. To you, maybe. To me, no. Tastes vary. (Good thing, imo...)

While regulated mods provide some level of user protection, I don't think it's smart to test those limits while it's in my face. If you red-line your car all the time, it's not going to last, you'll be looking at a new engine soon.

Learn about battery safety. It's your hands and lips at risk.
