I'm confused, too. By the title these should be single coils as that's what fits those clearos. But, when you look at the description it says they are dual coils (which would fit evod 2, evod glass, protank 3 and aerotanks).

So the real question is which description is right. The description in the title or the description "dual coil"?

jstaubin: did you get shipped dual coils or single coils?

Looks like those are the older style ones but they should work in a protank but not in a T3S. The flange below the wick looks like it is the wide style which works in protanks and aeros. If the flange was smaller it would work in the TS series and protanks, etc. protank bases are the same base.

Dual coil / single coil means nothing that is a personal choice. I rebuild those duals to singles all the time

It does matter if they're dual coil or single coil. They aren't interchangeable in Kanger products. The dual coils have a larger chamber to fit both coils. You can rebuild the dual coils to a single coil, but it doesn't make it fit into a Protank 1 or 2.

You are right about that with respect to the newer dual coils (with the new housing) but if that picture is accurate then that is the older housing which will work. the fact it is dual or single does not matter the style of the housing is what matters and makes it fit or not

The dual coils just have a no resistance wire in them with the resistance wire; that's all.
Just use a single wire and that is it. When you break it down you will find both wires inside. Just build a single coil to go inside of it. They do not need to have 2 wires to work. I use 32 gauge Kanthal and cotton to rebuild those. The cotton is hands down better as a wick.
You definitely need an ohm tester of some type though to be sure you are hitting your mark whether it is from an APV or an Ohm tester. Being slightly off is not a huge deal when you are shooting for 1.6 to 2.0. Once you do it about 20 times you will get the hang of it :)
