I am having a problem putting links in my post.

Here is an example of a fail. It is inserted into the text of the post like this:

Code:
[FONT=&]URL="http://www.vapor4life.com/vapor-zeus-dual-mode-ecigarette"]Zeus[/URL[/FONT]

With the brackets around it. (I left it out because it was still making the link even though it is embeded in the code statement.)

Now the link is right in the post, but the link is like this when you click on it:

Code:
http://vapor4life.go2jump.org/aff_c?offer_id=6&aff_id=1120&url=www.vapor4life.com%2Fvapor-zeus-dual-mode-ecigarette

Why is it doing this? Adding some go2jump garbage.

Hover your mouse over the link and let us know what message pops up?

It goes to the page you linked to, only first it tells the vendor that the person came from ECF.

This is called an affiliate link. It's done because many ecig vendors make multi millions annually from sales but ECF makes peanuts in comparison, even though many vendors built their entire business around exposure on ECF, and others even make 80% of their turnover through ECF. It's only fair that ECF somehow raises funds to pay for the service, in this case by taking a small percentage of a small number of sales. Otherwise, ECF wouldn't exist. Your link is not functionally changed. You can see any example of a link that is changed in this way because hovering on it shows a title that explains this.

It's best explained by the statistic that around 10,000 people new to vaping visit ECF every day, and most do not become members, and they may only visit one time in order to get correct info and/or find reliable products. So if we don't see them again, but they find what they need via ECF, and some vendors contribute a small fee for the referral, then everyone wins.

Also, the majority of advertising etc on ECF is not seen by supporting members and one or two other usergroups, so it is not intrusive to them.

Ok, I get it. That’s fine with me, but the redirected link doesn't work. I thought something was wrong. Well, there is something wrong, the link doesn't work when you redirect it. I wouldn't mind ECF paying the bills so to speak, but the link should work, no?

BTW, that is very interesting rolygate. ECF has been an integral part in me learning about the vaping world and also contacting venders to boot. Another reason for me to be a supporting member huh? Yes, I will when I get the funds. On my financial list to do.
