Linking to websites

Can someone please explain why when I link to Vapor4Life in my posts the link gets changed to vapor4life.........org. After I submit that post the link gets changed to starting with that and when I click on it I only get a blank page. I'm sure this is a noob question but I searched and can't find an answer.

Here is an example:
Link to Vapor4Life

gets changed to:
vapor4life.........org/....c?offer_id=6&....id=1120&url=www.vapor4life.com

Well I've seen that happen before, I assume there is something in some links that get flagged.

This is just a straight link (copy/paste). Will it work?

The subforum link is fine and all, but when answering someones question about a specific product it would be nice to provide them a link to that product.

We are experimenting with rewriting some links as affiliate links for our benefit, provided that nothing in the link is changed.

If the page/product linked to is changed then please let me know with an example and we can get our coder to fix the problem. Obviously we don't want to change anyone's link in any way so this looks like an issue that needs fixing. You can post with the link here, all you need to do is break up words and put spaces, so that the software can't see it as a link. So, for one going to a page on example.com you could put:

www. ex ample .com/ page .html

Make sure to break the name of the site and put a space in it. Thanks.

the link that was falsely redirected in the post above yours, roly, was

Even just linking to the vapor4life home page gets redirected.

Trying to link to:

www. vapor4life. com

and it is getting changed to:

vapor4life. go 2 jump. org / a f f _ c? offer_id=6 & a f f _ id=1120 & url= www. vapor4life. com

The modified link just loads a blank page and does not redirect.

Also to note, I uncheck "Automatically parse links in text" and "Automatically retrieve titles from external links" in the miscellaneous options. Unchecking those options seems to have no effect on the vapor4life link getting modified.

OK thanks. These problems are caused at the other end, by faulty link details given to us by the vendors. Obviously, if you link to page X it still needs to go to page X. It looks as if we will get more issues along these lines because they give us the wrong info, unfortunately.
