that was happening to me from time to time and I was going crazy trying to figure out why. I discovered that it was the way I was mixing. It happened when I didn't shake my ingredients between additions. Now I add flavors, cap and shake. then add nic base, cap and shake and then add the no nic base. I tested the theory and mixed one without the shaking/mixing between additions and yep, instant cloudy. HTH you too.

I'm with Mattie - I've had a lot of mixes get cloudy, so I put ingredients in first, shake, then add nic and remaining VG. Since I generally don't add PG by itself, I make sure the flavorings are well shaken first.

Also, not sure about bottles - Cinnamon is a tank cracker, but I don't know if it has an effect on the juice bottles or just the plastic of tanks. I'm guessing they're different compositions, but if you have glass, might be better to mix in glass if you can.

Cinnamon Red Hot (PG)
water-soluble
This is a "stripped-down" version of our cinnamon that contains mostly cinnamaldehyde and a touch of eugenol. It is more like the candy than true cinnamon.

** Note: Although rare, some individuals may be allergic to Cinnamon, please do not use this flavor if you are allergic to cinnamon
This is a new formulation of this flavor that uses PG instead of Ethyl Alcohol! I recommend testing with small batches to make any necessary adjustments in mixing ratio. Warning: if you are trying to use this as a "stand-alone" flavor, it will not mix as well with VG as the alcohol version.

* Note: cinnamaldehyde can vary from being slightly yellow to very yellow, and so there will be color variations with this flavor
** This is a strong flavor. For costumers using plastic-based equipment with this flavor, please note that we have heard reports of this flavor causing damage to some kinds of plastics. Exercise caution and start with lower concentrations if using plastic.

Ingredients:Artificial Flavor, Propylene Glycol

Warning: if you are trying to use this as a "stand-alone" flavor, it will not mix as well with VG as the alcohol version.

Plastic bottles for this type of flavor is risky. You may have mixed it in non-HDPE plastic.
Sometimes folks fail to get their bottles clean when reusing. A small amount of chemicals like soap get left behind can cause cloudiness. Whatever TFA means by "it will not mix as well" might solve your problem/question.
You might try remixing and follow all suggestions to try to find out what went wrong.

If nothing seems to work, you could get in touch with Linda at TFA ( aka Signature--8:30 to 5:00 PST M-F, 831-316-7137 or 831-704-7342 / admin@perfumersapprentice.com) and explain problem. Good luck.

The mix that was doing that to me was billsmagicvaper's recipe "Fire and Ice" and my menthol mix. My sister loves the F&I so I make it often. I would mix it one time and it would be crystal clear with just a hint of color and then I would mix a new batch and it would cloud up the second I shook it. I never knew when it would happen and since I had no idea what was causing it I had no idea as to how to stop it from happening. She said it tasted fine but I had to know what was causing it.

I posted my quandary over in the flavor apprentice thread and they solved my problem for me. Haven't had a single cloudy mix since I started shaking between additions. BTW: I always mix directly in the 30/60/or 120ml glass bottles that the liquid is going to be stored in.

I have a couple of questions.....do you shake your flavorings real well before adding them? Is this a problem with other flavors....or just the red hot cinnamon? And last....does this apply to all brands of flavor? or just TFA?
I don't know that it is necessary but I do shake all of mine no matter the brand before using just in case there is a bit of settling going on. I also shake my finished liquid before using each time.

My TFA Cinnamon Red Hot has always gotten cloudy when I add the flavoring. It's never bothered me and it clears up once it gets warm in the tank. However, I recently bought another 4 ounce bottle of the TFA Cinnamon Red Hot and it doesn't seem to get as cloudy. Still doesn't bother me. I love this flavor. It's probably my second favorite.

My Cinnamon Red Hot stays cloudy, even in the tank. The only plastic bottle it is in is the one I get it from Bull City Vapor; I store in glass. And I do give it a nice little shake before I mix the flavor. The cloudiness has never bothered me.
