TFA Cinnamon Red Hots at 5%, among other ingredients, has resulted in a murky, milky, impossible-to-see-through liquid after a thorough shake and an overnight wait. Is this normal? The flavor was from WL, and was very clear in it's vial. All of the other flavors I mixed it with have been mixed before in different recipes and none of them have ever produced this milkyness, so I'm assuming it's coming from the Red Hots. It smells alright, and there are no red flags like a white film, nasty odor, or spontaneous combustion. Does anyone have experience with this flavor? Was 5% too high?

I believe all cinnamon flavors have this effect. I remember reading that they can not be stored in certain bottles and can do damage to your tank/atty. I think it is normal.... but probably not a flavor you want sitting around for too long. Let me know though, because I ordered a bottle of this stuff too, should be here anytime! :D

AHA!

Was curious and didn't want to give wrong info so I looked it up - Found this on wizardlabs website:

Concentrated Cinnamon Red Hots flavoring by The Flavor Apprentice. Cinnamon Red Hots concentrated flavoring is FDA approved for use in food, beverages, and products for human consumption. Strong Cinnamon candy flavoring like Red Hots or Atomic Fireballs.
Like pure cinnamon oil, this flavoring should not be stored in non-HDPE plastic.

This flavor does not combine well with VG-only blends.
Ingredients: Art. Flavors, Ethyl Alcohol

All Wizard Labs flavor concentrates are undiluted, full strength concentrates from the manufacturer, and contain no Diacetyl.
Recommended usage is to test at 5% flavoring in your solution, and adjust to taste.

Hope this helps!

Ok so 5% isn't too much, and the milky look is normal. Thats a relief. I'm going to have to transfer it into a glass bottle if that's all there is to worry about. I don't plan on filling a tank with it, but dripping it as I made a small batch just to see if the recipe was a good idea. Thanks guys

It should turn a dark red in a glass bottle. That you can see through. Use all glass. It rules out anything from the plastic. PET would be good plastic but getting bottle sizes and types in it to work with is near impossible. They're all big 120ml or so +. I use a Wide Mouth PET for mixing in then pour into glass. Then into a 15ml to 30ml needle tip LDPE for dripping into tanks and carts. It doesn't go into LDPE till it's steeped and then it stays long enough to get vaped. All the cinnamon or spice I've used does this. I put cinnamon stuff in a EVOD and haven't eaten a tank yet. But I won't put it in my DCT's or clearos.
