I had a 3 month old Riva battery and thought I better back it up with a new one which I got on monday , along with a LR 306 atty. For 2 days I was enjoying that awesome steam engine of an atty....Until my fully charged older battery crapped out. When I press the button it blinks but doesn't fire. My thought was oh well got a good 3 months out of that one and good thing I have a new one. I attached the 306 to the new battery and 20 minuted later same thing happened to that one also. Whats up with that?
Did my LR 306 atty crap out my batteries ? any help out there ?

It sounds like it. I've seen quite a few posts similar to yours about people who have been using a lr atty and it shorted out the battery. Too bad it was both. I hope you have at least one more battery to keep you going.

Maybe that's not the problem though. Hopefully someone else will chime in with a couple of other options.

BTW, did you try a different atty yet?

OK
The issue is that the battery blinks.... Therefore, I believe it is likely the battery is toast. I have only had one battery crap out - thus far - a 4081 - and that is exactly what it does. It blinks, but won't charge and won't work.

I would check the resistance on the atty's in question. I will bet they are 1.5 ohms - and it sounds like they toasted your batteries... bummer.

I think it blinks in both instances, both my Rivas with the bad atty blinks like that when I press the button and doesn't stop. When I put in another atty and press the button it fires up and stops blinking. Anway it could be either/or, I just put it out there for him to check.

I looked at VaporFlow.com, they are rated at 1.5 ohms, figured as much.

Edit: On a side note, I do not pretend to be an electrical whiz by any stretch, but I wonder if using your LR306 on a 5 volt PT is a good idea? I believe 1.5 ohms are only supposed to used at 3.7v or less... But someone that knows far more I will have to provide a definitive answer.
