Hi guys I’m Bobby and I been vaping for 8 months now. I have to knock on wood that I have not needed to pick up a analog cig. Just to speed you up on my setup: EGO-T 1000 MAH battery, ego LR atomizers, reg atomizers, and dual coil Cartomizers. I enjoy the hell smoking out of this device. When I draw the vapor hits my tongue softly as if I’m getting a French kiss from ego. The taste and vapor is stellar.

Ok so you might ask what’s wrong. Well recently I purchased a Provari v2 which came with a 6ml Turbo tank and 3 dual coil Cartomizers (1.5-1.6 ohms)and drip tip.

ProVari V2 TurboTank XL Starter Kit (PROVARISK)

The problems that I am having with this tank is that I don’t get the same flavor/taste compared to my eGo-T. Nor do I get any enhanced flavor. I called the vendor and they felt I may have gotten some juice in the center of the carto. Ok So I drained the tank and switched to a new dual coil carto. I inserted the carto halfway in the tank. I tilted the carto against the tank and proceeded to fill up the tank using outside wall of tank about 75 percent full. Slowly I adjusted the dual coil carto so it would not get any liquid as it was being centered and raised. Once it was centered and raised I added 1.5ml of juice from a syringe to the outside wall of the carto. I then slowly placed the drip tip cap without blocking the whole of the drip tip. Then I let it set for 5 minutes so it can soak up. I whipped out my Provari with a new charge battery and set the volts to 4.0 I give it a few toots and here are the issues.

  1. No taste kinda dry I see lots of vapor but I can’t taste the juice. (I’m thinking Carto issue not soaked enough, I lift drip tip and dripped a few more drops. Problem still there).
  2. When I do hard pulls I can see the small bubbles so its soaking the carto. Still no taste but I see vapor. then i get a girgle thing on the tip as if it got flooded. (before changing cartoa gain I removed the tank from the provari and took a hige breath and blew into the 510 whole of the carto to push out any excesseive juice. then wiped it all down and put the tank back on and give it a few toots and nothing. (i got to be a ......)
  3. I inhale slowly directly to lungs then blow out (i try to smoke with the same teqnique as I do with the eGo-T) results it can be tight or very loose with a dull taste. This upsets me a great deal I must be doing something wrong.
  4. I change the volts to 3.2-3.7v repeat same steps but I get same results.
  5. I changed the carto again and this time I feel a lot of air when I drag and still getting good vaper but very very dull to no taste.

I did order some new dual coil cartos from another vendor (madvapes) some with triple whole and single hole higher than 1.5 ohms. I thin it was 2.0 ohm to give a try. The other thing I kinda notice is that when I screw the 6ml tank I feel maybe the carto still needs to go down further to the provari but the base of the provari not letting it. Maybe someone with a provari v2 or with enough experience can let me know if I should just throw this tank away and buy a new one or if I need a extension or something or adapter to before adding a 6ml tank. If someone can tell me what I’m doing wrong or maybe the tank is not write for this provari. Please advise.

You might try a higher resistance carto and higher voltage around 4.2 to 4.7 volts. Also, you mention that the tank doesn't feel like it screws down all the way, maybe it's not making a good connection. You could try a different tank, or just use straight cartos without a tank. Madvapes has some cheap tanks that actually work pretty well.

Thanks mooreted, the highest voltage I was able to fire it up without getting the ProVari error was 4.9 volts. At 4.9 volts id di see it suck the juice from the tank into the cartomizer. But I didn’t get any sweet taste it was extremely mellow. The juice I was using was a honey wood and my eGo has a nice sweet tasting honey with wood chips. All I got from this tank was a hot warm vapor in my mouth with no flavor. I'm currently awaiting my order from madvapes to arrive. I did order dual coil 510 Chrome tank Cartomizers 5ml from mad vapes. I hope this works well because I am so dying to enjoy this ProVari.

dumb question but ...on a provari what is the difference in using a 2ohm vs a 3ohm carto ?

Vapawhat to answer your question 2ohm can be used with higher voltage battery. For instance if you want to go higher than 3.2 volts you will need a battery that can go higher as well as a compatible carto or atamizer. which is above 2ohm. the problem of using a LR or anything under 2.0 ohm with a battery that is higher than 3.2 you can end up frying the carto/atom or battery. As you may know the higher voltage you go with the ejuice it enhances and changes the flavor. some juices may work well at 3.2 when others flurish at 3.9-5.0 volts. it really depends on the user.

Did you prefill the cartomizer before you filled the tank? You have to do this the first time you fill a tank. After that, all you do is fill the tank...but you have to get a new cartomizer wet with juice the first time you use it.

Thanks Kay I actually did that this past weekend. The problem had to do with the cartomizer not grabbing enough juice from the tank. I did some research and turns out the juice from dragonfly ejuice is a little on the thick side. Which is ok, I love there juices so far so Ic ant say anything negative. To solve the problem i went to home depot and bought myself a WATT 1/4 inch Saddle. It cost me about 7 bucks. The saddle helped me with enlarging the whole. Well, let me tell you for the first time using this thing it was a cinch. Best 7 bucks I spent. I then washed out the carto with hot distilled water. Let it out to dry then proceeded to try it again. The smell and taste of metal was gone. The carto had no more problems filling and WOW what a nice vape and taste. I have to say the HONEY Wood Tobacco is one of my favorite e juice from DragonFly and it taste so awesome on my ego 1000 but DAMN how that sht taste on my provari tank no comparison. The max Voltage I was able to pump it up was 4.0 without getting an ohm error. I played with the taste from 3.2 volts to 4.0 The Nice warm heated vape touching the tongue was exquisite. Keep in mind this was this past Saturday. Today I have to tell you I got my shipment from Cloud vapor and Madvapes. I received my two MAPTANKs one DCT and one CE2. The first thing I did was set the DCT up.

First thing I noticed that the whole from the cartomizer was covered in the ring so I thought it may not get any or enough juice from the tank. No problem being that I have the Watt saddle. I placed the carto side by side with the ring on and measured where the whole should be just before touching the bottom of the ring. Placed that carto in the saddle and punched that boy a nice whole. Then I lubricated it up with my honey wood tobacco so there was not much of a resistance sliding it in tube. Lubricated the other ring and placed it on top and then I started to fill the tank up with my fav honey wood tobacco. Once filled 80 percent I gently slide the rest of the carto up. I left it sitting for 5 minutes to see if it will absorb and fill on its own. After 5 minutes is aw it was pretty saturated and I had to refill the tank. Once refilled I sealed it up and noticed the battery connector was dry which on my other cart it was a little wet. This one didn’t show any moisture by the battery connector. I paled it on my porovari and checked the ohm and it read 1.5. I then reduce the battery to 3.2 just to give it a warm up. Took a few toots and wow I was impressed. I then pumped it up to 3.9 to 4.2 and the warm flavor and taste WOW.

I removed the tip to see if it was saturated and saw it was still wet and I saw bubbles from the tank. SHT is working the way it should. The only con thing was after tooting for a good hour it made me loopy and had to lay down. The juice tasted so good that I have to lower the nicotine from 24mg to something more reasonable since I can’t put this thing down. The other minor issue I saw that the drip tip that came with it wouldn’t fit. Which was ok I used my stainless steel one that came with my provari and it worked well.

Just a heads up I placed myself on auto notify list this past weekend since i saw map chrome dct listed on cloud vapor site. i was notified today so I placed a order. its a little pricey but for this stellar performance its worth every penny.
