Hi Guys, I am planning on rebuilding my Vivi Nova clone, I like the tank it does not leak at all and I like the nipple arrangement that seals the head to the top cap. I am a little unsure about the correct size of wick that I should be using and the differences between the different types of wick available, the same question also applies to the Kantahl wire. I have heard about flaming the wick and Kanthal and do not understand what is meant by this. I have a VV Ego twist so do not require to low a resistance head, would 4 coils be about right. Any help would be very much appreciated, I was about to go ahead and order the parts but thought I would double check here before going ahead. Thank you.

I used 2 mm silica and 32 ga kanthal. Flaming is referring to torching the silica til it glows, and for the kanthal just use a lighter to get the kanthal red hot as you pass it through the flame. It takes the tension/springiness out of the wire.

Most of the time I don't even torch or flame my silica, most do so they can burn off any impurities.
You should burn the wire before using and it will burn off the machine oil that are present when it was manufactured. Other wise you will tastes machine oil and stuff when you vape. Also boiling the wick about 5 minutes to get rid of any manufacturing impurities from wick. All wicks are not sold cleaned. Dry burning helps some. But if you burn the wire and boil the wick prior, than you don't have to worry about lingering taste and or smell.
