I've been reading everywhere trying to figure out what are the best batteries to get. Alot of people say the Sony vtc4's but most online are fakes now so I dont want to even bother. But besides them what are the best batteries for vaping? For a sigelei 150w? Best place to order online? I just want something that will give my sigelei its full potential and last a long time. Help please!

Sigelei recommends 30A CDR batteries for their 150watt mod. 30A CDR is the highest amp battery available. Any battery labeled 35A, 38A, 40A, etc is labeled with the "pulse" not the continuous.

Purple Efest Batteries not as Advertised

Here are some options:
1. Orbtronic SX30 2100mah 30A
2. Sony VTC4 2100mah 30A (there are no new stock authentic VTC5's out there)
3. Xtar 2100mah 30A (re-wrapped Sony VTC4)

Authentic Sony VTC4's are still available. Recently some VTV5's have showed up at reputable battery suppliers but we don't know how old they are. Illum has VTC5's in Stock

BATTERIES - WHERE TO BUY

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

I was gonna get some but I hear alot of people say those are no good and don't deliver the power they advertise they do. What kind of vape are you using?

The IMR18650 2500MAH 20A eFest batteries are reskinned LG HE2s. I'm using them in mine and they work great if you're not going above 100W.

I have a Sigelei 150 and mostly vape under 75 watts with it. I have LG HE2, Samsung 25R and a couple of each of the Sony VTC3, 4 and 5 batteries. I consider the HE2, the 25R and the VTC5 to be 20 amp batteries. If I feel like pushing the Sigelei over about 75 watts I try to use the Sony VTC3 or 4's. I feel they can handle the higher amps better than the others and will not be stressed as hard as the others so they will last longer.

On the other hand, if you use 30A batteries all the time at lower amps they should last longer than 20A amp rated batts and if you ever feel the need to increase the power (watts) you're good to go.

I buy my batteries from known good suppliers that I feel will not sell me counterfeits. Susan already gave you a list of those suppliers.

Hope this helps :)

Samsung INR18650-25R 2500mah are 20a CDR.

Susan already mentioned the 30a batteries, there is no 'best', as long as you stay away from marketing hype amp rated batteries & buy from reputable vendors/dealers you'll be okay with any of them.

Orbtronic SX30 2100mah 30a
Sony VTC4 2100mah 30a
Xtar 2100mah 30a
VTC3 1600mah 30a

All of these batteries will be suitable in the Sig150, and this is a reputable vendor (with pretty fantastic prices right now):

18650 Samsung INR18650-25R 2500mAh High Discharge FLAT Top (22A? But let's just say 20A.)

18650 LG 18650HE2 2500mAh High Discharge Flat Top (20A)

18650 LG 18650HE4 2500mAh High Discharge Flat Top (20A, higher C rating than HE2's)

18650 Sony US18650VTC4 2100mAh High Discharge Flat Top (The VTC4's are usually authentics, assuming you're getting them from a reliable vendor, it's the VTC5's that are pretty much guaranteed fakes, as they're not produced anymore).

Actually Sony has recently restarted production of VTC5 batteries again. I know of several very reputable dealers including a battery dealer (NOT a vape shop) that has recently received shipments directly from Sony.

However, VCT5s are 20A batteries, not 30A batteries. A lot of people assumed that since it carried the VTC name it was a 30A battery like the VTC4 but it is not. It's a 20A battery.

My personal recommendation is for either Sony VTC4 or Orbtronic SX30. There is also the Xtar 30A which is just rewrapped VTC4, but if you're going to buy a rewrap why not just buy the VTC4 to begin with? I would not recommend any 20A battery for a 150W mod. You can easily exceed that 20A limit on a 150W mod.

VTC5's are 30A batteries. That said, I'd be very skeptical that anyone has a legitimate source of VTC5's unless Sony has come forward saying they're beginning to manufacture them again. From what I know, they stopped because they realized people were using them in vapes, which was not the intended purpose of the battery.

Also worth mentioning, the Sig150 is capable of firing down to .1 ohm (42A) which no 18650 battery can safely handle. I assume the Sig150 won't output the amperage, and rather, will secretly lower voltage/lie to you in order to prevent frying the chip (chip has a 30A limit from what I've read). I've never heard of anyone discharging their batteries in a sig150, though its probably happened, but the rarity of it makes me believe the internal safety prevents you from pushing something like 40A to your batteries.

VTC 5's are not 30amp CDR batteries, never have been.

Sony Energy Devices Corp the division of Sony that manufactures the size & chemistry batteries we use has never published a data / spec sheet that shows the VTC5 tested above 20a.
That is due to the battery failing to maintain a temperature under the accepted industry standard at higher amperage during testing without use of an external cooling source.

I have never understood the cult like following & all the whoopla over a 20a battery.

You might want to read this article regarding the Sony VTC batteries.

I've read it. It's a straight copy and paste from a Reddit post made in August of last year.

Sony VTC5 18650 - Notice from Sony : electronic_cigarette

Now you may want to re-read what I wrote. I know of a NON-VAPE SHOP BATTERY SELLER that received a new shipment DIRECTLY FROM SONY last month.

This battery seller does NOT buy from 3rd party vendors. They buy directly from the manufacturers and ONLY from the manufacturers.

So unless Sony is now selling fakes themselves, these are real.

Oh, and for the record, if you go to the Orbtronic website, you'll find this....

IN STOCK! Sony VTC5 2600mAh 30A 18650 High Drain rechargeable battery 3.7V

Which includes this:

vtc5-4.gif

Sony absolutely is producing VTC5 batteries again.

Does anybody in this convo have a sigelei 150w? And if so what setup are you using? I just want the best setup with no fakes or waste of money, that's why so many questions. Sorry

I use a Sig150 with LG HE4's and Efest 35A's (which are actually 20A batteries).

You'll be fine with 20A batteries as long as you aren't super-subohming (less than .3 ohms).
