Sub Ohm Help

I've been sub ohming on the Atlantis v2 with a sigelei 150w using sony vtc4s. I recently ordered a derringer clone from fasttech. I usually run the Atlantis at .5 ohms. So im wondering about going to .2 ohms with the derringer. Would using 2 Sony VTC5s be enough to handle resistance that low. I tried using the steam engine calculator but i just ended up confusing myself and im not that good at math to begin with. Could use some help from some veteran vapers.

according to steam engine, the sigelei 150w has a sweet spot at 0.3 ohm

should be fine ,i've got a .4ohm build in my derringer just the spot i liked IPV 3 same batterys

Your Sig 150 is a regulated mod, and VTC5s are good batteries. It should be perfectly safe. That's not the same thing as saying you'll like the vape at that level. But you'll have to make that call for yourself.

I don't think you should have an issue with the VTC4s using the Sigelli at .2 ohms personally, but the VTC5s are great batts.

It'll be perfectly safe with that setup. Keep in mind, though... that's gonna be one hell of a hot vape. 0.2ohms on a Derringer is lip-scalding hot, even with a delrin cap. Keep the wattage low to start... I'd say 50 watts, then slowly increase in 5 watt increments. Just stand by: the Derringer is a toasty hot RDA, even with a 0.5 build.

And also just food for thought, some juice's don't taste the same @ higher wattage / lower ohm builds, sounds as if your just in search of huge plumes and if that's the case just try 70 - 90 % VG / drip line juice with a dual coil 1/2 ohm build, anything over 70 watts will start to mute the flavor.

24ga 10 wraps each 2 1/2 mm / 50 watts / 10 amps all day long........

With a VW mod atty resistance doesn't matter. Battery amp draw only depends on the watts you set. It's the opposite with VV or mechanical mods.

If you would like to see what the battery amp draw is in a VW mod check out the Steam Engine battery drain page. Leave it set for VW and set the 'Battery voltage' to 3V for a single battery mod and 6V for dual batteries in series like the Sigelei 150 has. Set the 'Power (wattage) setting' to 100 watts, hit enter and under 'Battery drain' you'll see that each battery will see 18.52A. Change the resistance and you'll see no change in the batt amp draw. Change the watts to 150 and you get 27.78A draw on the batts. If you raise the battery voltage to 8V, the max you'll get from fully charged batteries under load, battery amp draw at 150 watts goes down to 21A.
