I have been using Smok since I started vaping, and most of their vapes are decently reliable (such as the gpriv 2). But recently I got the Smok v8 (about 2 weeks ago give or take). I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix the charging issues I have been having recently.

Recently I have had this issue where the only way I could get it to charge was setting it down on the side and putting heavy objects to hold the cord so it's slanted because the charging port is loose. Plugging it in normally has no effect, and does not charge it at all. Any ideas on how I could fix this?

I haven't been rough with it, I have tried multiple cables, I haven't leaked any juice into the port etc. I have been very cautious when it comes to my vapes. This is because on my first vape, the smok alien...I know not the best choice, I ended up shredding the 510 connector. This resulted in me getting my tank stuck on the mod...rookie mistake.

I have contacted the person I got it from and they said I could still return it if need be.

Thanks in advance,
Trippayy

Typical dying microUSB2 issue. There’s no help for it I’m afraid except going in and resoldering the port. I suggest getting a charger for your batteries and charging that way. This isn’t even really a smok problem. MicroUSB2 was never designed to be used as a charging system and isn’t really tough enough for it.

I have an external charger, the Nitecore D4 Digicharger, but this pen vape does not use batteries. Guess I will have to return it and get a new one. Thanks for the response though!

There’s a workaround to avoid wearing out the port. Get a magnetic usb cable and never remove the adaptor plug. FT sells em. They’re a couple bucks.
