I use an ego-t setup to vape with. I mostly vape Double RY4. My usual mix is 8% DRY4 in a 75/25 PG/VG resultant mix.
When it's good, you just can't beat the flavor of that DRY4, as many here can attest. But on occasion, the flavor seems to be lacking, even approaching what I'd call a burnt taste. The ego-T is a tank system, and this can happen in the middle of a tank, or any time actually. It doesn't seem to be attributed to how much juice is in the tank, condition of my battery or how quick I'm vaping. The flavor can be there one minute and the next it's gone, and the next few minutes, it's back.
The theory behind what might be causing this would appear to be my wick is not picking up the juice fast enough, although letting the device rest for a while doesn't seem to fix the problem.
Would using a thicker ratio help or hurt this? I'm considering going to 60/40 for the smoothness. I realize that this might cause the wick to absorb less in the same amount of time than if I were using 75/25, but does VG burn slower than PG once it's absorbed by the wick? I thought I had read where PG is the carrier of flavor, so going the thicker route doesn't make sense to me, but science works in strange ways.
So does anyone have a suggestion for my situation? I'm not going to change devices, because it works for me, so that's out. I use MFS nic, but will try WL once it's available. I just don't see what's causing this to happen.
Thanks for helpful suggestions.
