What could be wrong with my X2 (900) battery? I’ve had it about 2 weeks now. It charged up fine yesterday, didn’t overcharge, took it off soon as it turned off. Vaped fine last night and this morning. Went to work (I use my 78s at work) came home and went to vape on it and it seemed to work at first but then just stopped, I thought what the heck it can’t be dead already. Tried to charge it (both computer and wall charger) and all I got was a dim blue light. Tried to clean it and make sure no holes were blocked, now no light at all on the charger. When I blow in the charge end it glows bright blue, but when I try to vape, it blinks 3 times….no vape. Previously I’ve only used my clearomizers with it, but just got a strong sample pack of carts delivered yesterday and a cone for it. It was working fine with them. Could the cone have messed it up for some reason….though I can’t imagine why because it’s made for it.
I am bummed! What happened?

Not sure, dwsizme. I haven't had your exact problem, yet.

The only issue I've had with my X2's so far - vaping fine then sort of like what you describe. However, I had just switched a CE3. I tried it on other batteries and had the same issue. For whatever reason, that particular CE3 was causing all my batteries to act as if they were low charged. Got rid of the CE3, and haven't had another problem, so there was some kind of connection wackiness going on with that particular carto. My batteries have been fine since.

I'm having problems with one of my X2s, also - if it's so much as breathed on while it's charging, the connection is broken ... and even if I get it perfectly positioned and lock it in a room so it can't possibly be accidentally bumped or disturbed overnight to charge, it vapes OK very briefly the next morning and then goes dead. I submitted a ticket on it but have had no response. I sure hope this isn't typical of X2s - I just bought another for myself and one for my daughter. I'm really disappointed with the performance of this one.

dsizme - I'm not sure what's wrong, but I assume it's an auto battery from your description. Best guess is that the air flow switch isn't working properly for some reason. Double check the two small, rectangular, holes under the cap on the charger end. If they're blocked it won't work because of no air flow. If that ain't it and another clearo/carto/CE3 doesn't work either, open a ticket with SI. I'm sure they'll get it fixed up for you. I do hope you have another battery. I have four X2s and four 78mm just to have backups for the backups of my backups.

I've had a bad day today....had to send my silver 78 back yesterday, it just up and died, only one month old, then I accidently put my purple tip (my favorite) 78 in my coffee this morning....don't ask - bad morning - it blinked and blinked for an hour. It's probably toast. Then bad day at work, just thing after thing - even had a pen that had ink in it, you could clearly see it, and it wouldn't write. Then came home and now my X2 isn't working. :( I wanted to get stocked up on batteries and now I'm down to 2. I emailed Heather at SI, but I'm sure they are gone for the weekend, so I will put in a ticket and send it back I'm sure. I know they will replace it, but now I have to wait for the mailman both ways. I wish SI had stores nearby. (sniff!!)
Thanks for the replies.....they feel like hugs..... ...the non vapers around me don't understand.

When mine blinks three times I just back off the CE/3ml/etc. I think the three blinks are indicating a short from the device. Probably pushed the center post to hard. If you still can't vape try lifting the center posts on the battery and the device just a tad. Re screw and try again.

Jeez, dwsizme, you really DID have a bad day. And to top it all off, it had to be at the beginning of the weekend. Be very careful with the 2 batts you have left. Keep them away from coffee. (Sorry, that wasn't very nice, was it?)

Seriously, I'm really sorry about your run of bad luck with your batteries. SI will get it straightened out for you, but it's still frustrating when those things happen all at one time. In spite of everything, try to have a nice weekend. :)

paddymx you're wonderful! Thanks! I wasn't sure what I was doing but I got a toothpick first - too fat - then 1/2 a toothpick - still too fat - then a pin, then a paperclip....still no go. I found a little screwdriver from an eyeglass kit and gently, very carefully lifted up on the post in the center and Eureka! it vapes. Thank you so much. I knew someone would know what was wrong!
This forum is awesome.
And thanks to everyone else for your kind words of sympathy, too! I feel better nowl

You got it as bad as I do, I started with 3 X2s and 2 78s and the darn things multiplied like rabbits. I have 7 X2-1300s now 3 manuals and 4 automatics but still just the 2 78s, I think they are either impotent or maybe the same sex???

One thing about electronics and dropping them in liquid is that we always have the urge to turn them on right after to see if they still work. Best thing to do is resist the urge because turning them on right after will cause the problems. Resisting that urge is key. Corosive liquids are tough to get them working again.

For things like coffee, rinsing them in distilled water and cleaning the best you can inside and out. Put them in a baggy with white rice for a couple days. Then let them air dry a few more. I have saved many a cell phones that dropped in the toilet this way. Sounds disgusting to pick it out. I have changed many a diapers when my kids were little. That was way worse than reaching into a toilet.

The main difference between a wet cell phone and a wet X2 or other battery style for vaping is, that unless it's a mod with a removable battery, the power is always there and power is being supplied to some electronics inside. With a cell phone you can take the battery out quickly, sometimes quickly enough to avoid frying anything especially if the phone is "off" when it gets wet. With a vaping battery, even a "sealed" vaping battery, you just can't get that battery out and there are always holes in a "sealed" vaping battery for air flow switches of just to vent the battery byproducts.

I had to go to work and the thing was blinking and blinking....made me cry it had so much life in it. I put it in a pie pan and put it outside because I didn't know what it was going to do. When I got home I stuck it in a bowl of rice, wish I would have thought of that earler. Do you know it blicked at me again. So now its still in the rice. I think I'm afraid to try it. It's not the end of the world though now because the X2 is working again. I plan to include batteries in my next few orders, too! Love the 78s for work and the X2 at home in the evening. Live and learn....and keep your batteries away from your coffee in the morning when you're still half asleep! :p
