I ordered the Joye 510 late Thursday night after a totally unsatisfying experience with the njoy NPro (after just a short period of time). It arrived today. (Gotta love priority mail!)
This is going to sound like a totally stupid question, but is there a cartridge already hooked to the atty or do I have to put one on? The "cartridge thingy" already on it feels greasy, but I can't tell if that's juice or if that's just something (VG?) to keep the atty from drying out. I ordered 5 pre-filled cartridges. Do I take the thing that looks like a cartridge off of the atty and add one of those. (Vapor does come out of the cartridge, but it has no flavor at all!) Please!! I want to start vaping!!

The atty comes with a liquid on it that needs to burn off. Give it a few puffs (5 or so) and see if you start getting some flavor. If you still don't try one of the prefilled. Did you order any liquid? If so try adding a drop or two. Remember a "wet atty is a happy atty" as I read someone advising. That piece of advice has worked well for me.

The cartridge that is on a new atomizer is a blank one. Remove the cartridge from the atomizer and there should be no filling inside of it. Put one of the pre filled cartridges on the atomizer. You won't get very far with only 5 pre filled carts, I recommend that you buy some e-juice, to refill those carts with.

I believe there is a blank cartridge (no filler or juice) attached to the atty when it ships. The 'greasiness' you see is most likely the primer fluid they put in the atty's to keep them from drying out. You need to blow this stuff out before trying to vape. Once you have done that, put on one of pre-filled carts and take a few primer puffs (don't inhale) as it will take a few to get the last of the primer taste out of the atty. Hope this helps - good luck!

It could be a prefilled cartridge, but I doubt it. It is most likely primer that is put on at the favtory to prevent the atty from drying out. Just pull the black tip off the atty. If you don't see any filler (usually white), set it aside. Next, remove the atty by unscrewing it off the battery. Now, hold a paper towel over the threaded end of the atty and blow through the other end. Keep doing this until no liquid comes out - that's the primer. Screw the atty back onto the battery, and locate a cartridge to stick onto the end of the atty, but, before you put the cart on, drip a couple of drops of liquid onto the atomizer - inside the atty tube. This will prime your atty. Now, if the atty is pre-filled, push it onto the atty and you are ready to go. You'll probably get a slightly unpleasant taste for the first few draws, so don't inhale yet. It sounds like you are all set for a while. A 510 battery will only last about an hour, before you will have to recharge it. Make sure that your second battery is fully charged, so you can switch batteries, while the other one is charging. You may want to look into getting a Joye Ego battery. They can last up to 6 to 12 hours, before they have to be recharged and they use the 510 attys and carts.

Oh, JerrryRM, I love you! I've been looking for the answer to that question since I ordered the Joye510 and realized that the battery life was better with the eGo. That will have to be a future purchase though. I'm on a "fixed income" and in the past week or so, I've ordered or bought 2 separate e-cigarette kits (the 2nd one being the Joye 510 and definitely more satisfying one) I've also realized that the prefilled carts bought with the Joye 510 would not be enough so I went on an e-juice "frenzy". My tobacco habit has been expensive throughout my life, but the e-cigarette idea has been just as expensive (or more) these past few days. But I'm taking everything "under advisement". Ideally, I would be able to spend less to vape than to smoke. These past few years have involved decisions such as "Would you rather smoke, or would you rather eat?" If you were ever a "hard core smoker" you know what the answer was. Anyway, when I get more money, I definitely want to get something that will last longer as well as something else that will charge them---Like something that would plug into a USB port of my computer.
