obbie, the njoy ncig can be refilled. It is similar (not sure if they are exactly the same) as the DSE-801 (considered a pen-style). The pen-style e-cigs offer longer battery life (due to larger/longer battery) and longer cartridge life (due to large cartridge size).

As for a model to suggest, it would depend upon your needs/priorities: do you want a small form factor; do you want a lot of throat hit; do you want a lot of vapor production, is flavor reproduction important to you?

Not sure what model of e-cig you purchased from health e cigarette, but there are plenty of reliable vendors listed in this forum who you can get a quality product from. The most common models I see being used in here are the M401, DSE-901, Joye-510, and DSE-801 (sorry if I made a user of another model feel left out). They all have their pluses and minuses, which is why it's best to know what you are looking for in an e-cig.

The Joye 510 (also called Yeti and other names) is a very good choice in what I would consider an upper-middle level e-cig. I don't even know exactly what my first one was, other than it was a cheaper mall-type e-cig with a different name. It sounds like you are not having very good luck with what you have. I don't know much about the one you have, but if it is possible to return it and get a refund, that may be your first step. Everyone has a favorite e-cig, and there any many out there that can be had for around $50 for a basic starter kit (including the 510) and I don't think anyone would say the 510 isn't a great choice for a first e-cig. I paid about about $130 for a deluxe 510 kit (from Innovapor with a discount code) with extra batteries and atomizers to have as spares as many people recommend to do. This allowed to have one for both my wife and I as well as spare parts. It also came with several (small) bottles of e-juice for re-filling. Sadly I paid $100 for my first e-cig that came only with 5 carts, 1 atomizer, 2 batteries and a charger, and it sucked to boot (hardly any vapor at all). If that first e-cig I bought was all that was available, I'd still be smoking my analogs.

And although many noobs don't like them (myself included originally), do yourself a favor and get something with MANUAL batteries rather than AUTOMATIC and you will save yourself a lot of headaches.

joye 510 starter kit from Rocky Mountain Vapor, 46 bucks, cheapest I could find.

MREXE....good find on price....but cheap is not the answer here. If the Joye-510 is not what the OP needs, then it is $46 wasted. Better to find out what he is looking for an e-cig to do and then tailor the suggestion accordingly. :)

Here's my $0.02...

I received an NJoy NCig for Father's Day; It is an 801-style and is completely interchangeable with 801 accessories. I knew nothing about eCigs before I received the NJoy, and after reading a few reviews was afraid that my wife had wasted her money. I will admit that it's pricey, but here is my experience...

I used it a good five weeks before I went back to analogs (another story in itself). In that time, it preformed flawlessly in terms of performance, every single day. There was a learning curve where I flooded the atomizer or ran it dry, but that was my fault and not the devices.

About three weeks in to it, I noticed the atomizer wasn't getting as hot and had poor vapor. I sent an e-mail to NJoy, and the very next day they put a replacement atomizer in the mail. Unfortunatly, they didn't have a black one in stock to replace mine, so they sent me a white one with a note that said to check back in a few weeks. I sent them an e-mail on Monday asking if they had any black ones back in stock, and they e-mailed me back on Tuesday saying that a black one was in the mail!

This morning, one of my original batteries stuck in the on position. I tapped it a few times and it started working again, but I immediately e-mailed NJoy. No problem, a new battery is in the mail!!

If I knew then what I know now, I probably would have advised against my wife spending $120 for it at a local headshop. However, it has a one year warranty!! I went ahead and purchased an extra atomizer to have on hand as a back-up, and have some manual batteries on the way to play with. But I feel the high cost up front pays for itself in replacement equipment over the next year.

With all that being said, I'm amazed at how everyone goes ga-ga over the 510, and then all the posts about changing batteries every hour, topping of carts frequently, etc. The 801 will hold 1mL of fluid. I'm vaping 24mg liquid and one cart lasts me the entire day. I carry an extra battery and atomizer in my laptop bag in the event one completely craps out, but to date the one I assemble in the morning and pop a fresh cart in is the same one I'm holding when I watch the 10PM news. Now I'm not one to sit and vape constantly for hours on end like some people; I smoke it just as I would a cigarette: a few puffs here and there throughout the day.

I might try some other devices in the future just to explore my options, but I absolutely love my 801 and can't see abandoning it anytime soon.

On-on gives solid advise.
It's been my experience the starter kits from njoy & smoingeverywhere, 103 models have the older atomizer and seems only carts you buy from them will fit their units. Purchasing a few kits on line the newer atomizers seem to have more girth, give better vapor and maybe last a bit longer ejuice wise. The dse901 well for me, easy to refill the carts, hold much more juice, fair battery time. The manual (button) are a bit more attention required though people say they last longer, makes sense as I've seen my auto's start lighting up sitting on the table if music's too loud. Keep doing your homework and with trial & error you will be successful .. don't give up, you will find your stick and be happier for it.

i am looking for just one that is dependable, i want the vapor to be as visual as a real one but the taste or throat hit isn't all that important to me. i am really not that particular i just want it to work for a few months before it fails which i know is a lot to ask because anything can go wrong with electronics. the e- health cheap cig about 22 dollars when it worked for two days the vapor was good and the throat hit was good for me but it just burnt up, and the second one doesn't work at all the battery doesn't charge even though the charger said it is. so i just want one most people have found to be durable. thank you all for your help i have never been to a site where the response was so quick and thoughtful. look forward to being here for a long time. i hate to say it but if smoking wasn't so bad or even half as bad i wouldn't stop but this will be a good trade off. thanks again

Well obbie, with that response, you could really choose any of the common models I first posted since they all have good reliability. Here's a quick run-down on my thoughts for each:

M401: (smallest out of the group I've mentioned; I should also note that I do not own one of these, so owners/users should feel free to pipe in). Decent battery life, good taste reproduction, good vapor, decent throat hit. Many users like to drip/dip with this specific model versus using the cartridge.

DSE-901: good battery life, very good taste reproduction, good vapor, good throat hit. This is my favorite model and have been using the same atomizers since April, when I first started. I have since switched over to manual batteries for this model and find using manual batteries to be more reliable (some of the switches in my automatic batteries have started to show signs of wear and thus, a loss of consistency) IMHO, this model does EVERYTHING well. It doesn't do any one thing great...just does everything well and is 'ol reliable in my mind.

Joye-510: poor to decent battery life, decent taste reproduction (I personally find it to have a burnt taste but others differ in that opinion), very good vapor, and very good throat hit (I actually find the throat hit to be too strong for my own needs....I would almost liken it to running a high voltage battery mod because the vapor is much warmer and really hits your throat). If you do decide to go w/ this model, I HIGHLY suggest you purchase a PCC (portable charging case) w/ this unit. This will allow you to charge one battery while you are vaping on another one and makes a handy little case to carry an extra atomizer and spare cartridges. Definitely well worth the money!

DSE-801: This is a "pen-style" and therefore, the largest of the e-cigs I discuss. The larger battery life will allow you to vape much longer on a charge. Also, it has the largest cartridge out of these 4 models and therefore, will allow you to vape longer before you have to worry about refilling/topping off your cartridges. Very good battery life, very good taste reproduction, good vapor, good throat hit. This model also has manual batteries available and I would suggest considering using those because the automatic batteries can give you the same issues as the automatic batteries for the DSE-901.

Hope this helps. As a side note....the average price for a starter kit for all of these models should run you $40-50. Obviously, the addition of a PCC will raise that price. Insure you have extra atomizers (minimum) and even some extra batteries, just to be safe. If you buy a Joye-510 PCC starter kit, those usually only come with one battery and one atomizer! So make sure you have a minimum of two batteries and two atomizers for any e-cig model you start out with!

-------------------------
Forgot to address your comment about wanting a model that will at least last you two months....please keep in mind that the atomizers are considered disposable and the batteries could be considered semi-disposable. Some people have had atomizers burn out on them in days or weeks of usage. It tends to be a little bit of a crap-shoot. But in overall dependability...all of these models do well. Just be sure to utilize your warranty if you should lose an atomizer w/in the warranty time-frame. Again, the majority of suppliers listed in here are very reputable and will provide you w/ a quality product. Cheers.
