Help!

I own a 4081 with a smashed open/resoldered/wires hanging everywhere/POS charger...the wires ripped away on both ends so I'm screwed for now until my new one arrives from electronic-ash. So my question is...is there anything I can do until then? I'd be willing to risk a battery if there's a DIY USB passthru mod or SOMETHING I can scrape together to get me some charge until I get my new AC unit. I'm in NYC and all the vendors want to sell insanely marked up starter kits so that option is out. Next few days look grim...

I can tell you what I am doing currently. But I cannot be responsible for you hurting yourself if you choose to try it.

Take 2 wires, and atomizer, and a regular 3.7V battery. Take 1 wire and stick it in the hole on the threaded connector of the atomizer. I was lucky and my wire fits snug inside. I do not have very much copper protruding as I dont want the wire sticking to far up in the atty. take the other end of that wire and put it on an end of the battery. Take the other wire and put it on the other end (I do all of this with my hands). Now touch the one remaining loose end of a wire onto the inner connection of the atomizer, this will produce vape. It could also break stuff. I am confident in myself and my ability to be careful. I am not scared of doing it this way in the slightest bit.

I would not recommend this for everyone, just trying to help.

All I could find was a 3.6V 1200 mAh at RadioShack...most mods I see online use the 3.7v 900 mAh, which is what I'm assuming you were referring to? Do you think this will make any difference? I'm going to try it tonight regardless..

Sorry to hear that. Here is what I was talking about.

Polarity does not matter. One wire is resting snug inside the atomizer hole as pictured. The double arrow represents touching the loose wire to the copper thread area for vapeing. I have had to use this several times in a pinch.

hmm...this is exactly what I tried. I guess it's just my battery. Oh well, thanks for all your help. I'll try it again when I come across that battery, because now I just want to learn the trick.

Wait.. you are not trying to connect what I am explaining to a battery are you? What you see pictured there is the atomizer.. not a battery.

Also I am unsure what a 4081 is to be honest.

It's work if you ripped a USB cable apart too....
Use the red and black wires to connect to the atty.....

Then use a roach clip to hold it all together and pass it around the room...

If you have a cordless phone, check the battery. It's probably 3.6V. It's what I used in a pinch. Did you get a switch at RS?

Oops - sorry - forgot to mention that it'd be at 5v - not 3.7.. But hey - if you need nicotine..

But like 42109 said.. Check other batteries in the house - anything 3.6 or above will work in a pinch!
